Via various tweets: At tonight's NWA Pro show, in a match we are assuming (hoping) was taped for an upcoming airing of "NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood," Colt "Boom Boom" Cabana finally scaled to the top of the mountain, defeating "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce and winning his first NWA World Heavyweight championship.

Pearce's reign, his third, ended almost a year after he won a three-way against then-champ Blue Demon Jr. and Phil Shatter back on March 14th, 2010.

I have never not been entertained by Cabana - even when during his cup of coffee with the WWE as Mr. Dot Com Scotty Goldman - and feel he'll be a fine standard bearer for the NWA for however long he reigns. Place your bets now as to whether or not he'll go over or under Pearce's last reign - me, I gotta take the under. (Television in the 21st century sure seems to compress the length of title reigns...)

This is the second time that I have been involved in booking a wrestler who won the NWA title between us announcing the match and him appearing in Montreal to wrestle with the belt.

We booked Christian to appear in Montreal, announced the match and BAM! he wins the NWA World Heavyweight Title (back when it was the TNA belt.)

And we just announced Colt Cabana against probably the most disgusting wrestler in the universe, Giant Tiger, in Montreal on March 27th and now Colt Cabana is the NWA Heavyweight Champion.

And somehow I ended up being the guy booking this travesty: http://llakor.blogspot.com/2011/03/inter-species-wrestling-presents-boner.html

Warning: Inter Species Wrestling (www.interspecieswrestling.com) is probably not safe for work, sanity or wrestling.

Welcome home, men of the 2nd Bn, 127th Infantry, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, WI Army National Guard! Job well done in Iraq!

A former NWA Wisconsin champion defeats a former All-Star Championship Wrestling champion for the NWA World title.

Excellent. Both men are absolute GOLD.

I've got to go along with the Trish/Bradshaw vs. Jackie/Chris Nowinski (sp?) match from RAW this week. I've only been watching WWF, er, WWE this year, but I can't remember seeing any match this year (or ever, for that matter)
