The main problem is that they're pushing it as an action/adventure flick, when it's really a parody comedy movie in disguse.
They almost trick you into thinking the 100 minutes of cheese is to lure you asleep, but then go right back to the cheese seconds later. It's a beautiful thing.
The best part was the movie theater handing out surveys for our reactions on the film - and before it started, I was very correct in what my thoughts about the movie would be. (Maybe I'm biased.)
For maximium enjoyment, tape this week's "Ebert and Roper at the Movies", then watch the segment on this movie after you've seen it. (Or, check out Ebert's review of the movie.) You'll get 5 more good minutes of laughter.

| #2 Posted on 10.2.02 1048.51 | | I heard it was pretty bad, but I thought that Ebert was a big Arnold buff. Arnold's days of 80's shootup glory are pretty much over. I saw that apocolypse movie he did and that one didn't do much for me. | Papercuts!

This review, of course, begs the question: Who's the fool here -- the people that made the film or the person who spent money to see the film (which he claims he knew was going to be obvious bomb) and then takes time to complain about it?

Some people, myself included, enjoy watching bad movies for the purpose of ridicule. I certainly hope Cubs Fan went to a matinee, though.
Just last weekend I rented Glitter. Yup.

| #6 Posted on 11.2.02 1128.54 | i'm sure it's just me, but arnold REALLY looked his age in this one. i found by filling in my own arnold dialogue at certain scenes, the movie was hilarious.

| #7 Posted on 11.2.02 1202.51 | The FOOLISH thing was having friends who are willing to put down $7.50 just for the chance to learn some new Arnold catchphrases they can run into the ground.
I got everything I was expecting and more.

Pretty predictable, by-the-numbers movie. Not in the way that I would prefer, but oh well. I've spent $4.25 on lesser things.
Then again, I liked "The 6th Day".
