The glass bottle lends a hint of classiness to the proceedings that's almost negated by the plastic twist top and outer wrapper.
Overall I think it would improve immensely if they didn't use aspertame to keep the calories down to around a cup of coffee. It starts off with a familiar taste, almost like carbonated sweetened Frappucino, then it settles into normal Frappucino-land and finally settles into normal (cheap) coffee bitterness with that lasting hint of formaldehyde that Diet Coke always seems to leave me with.
All in all, not worth the $1.69 they were charging for it at Schnucks.

Tried it this morning. I kind of liked the taste, but I'm not sure what market they're going for. There's not enough "energy" for it to be an energy drink. There's too much sugar for it to be a diet drink. Maybe it's just for people that wish their Coke tasted more like coffee. (Or vice versa.)
I could see buying it occasionally for the introductory price of $1.99 (for a 4-pack) that Vons is selling it for, but not the regular price of $5.99.
Agreed. I like it. However, I'm not paying that much for an 8oz bottle.

I assume they're rolling it out across the country in installments. We had it at Safeway here ... I want to say 2 weeks ago. (And was astonished that there wasn't a thread here!)
I find it to be like drinking a coke with a coffee candy in your mouth. The flavours seem to stay very separate for me. Maybe after years of drinking Coke with all kinds of foods, my brain has just learned to subtract the Coke flavour from the overall taste of the other food. Blak is actually OK -- I like it better than any of the other spin-offs they've tried, at least as a stand-alone beverage. It does not seem to go with other food though. I had one along with a sammich for lunch the other day -- not good at all.
If this is true, I have lost all and any respect for Spike Lee, and Ed Norton. Ossie Davis is cool, but his old age is clouding his thoughts. Bill Bradley is just another Washington jackass throwing his two cents into a worthless issue.
