DUI's notwithstanding, I like this hire. If I can't have Billy D, then Gillespie would be my 2nd choice. He is an up and comer, he recruits well, and seemed to immediately turnaround UTEP and A&M.

And maybe he can bring that 5 star, 7 foot recruit with him?

It could have been much worse. A lot of people wanted Rick Barnes, but he has lost in the 1st round in 8 of his 16 NCAA appearances. At least Tubby made it to the 2nd round. Thank God he said no.

It could make him feel less guilty when he leaves, because the Cavs will still be competitive. If the T-Mac trade goes down without the Knicks giving up their whole future they will have tons of space this summer.
