Just curious if any Wieners were thinking of making the trek to Indio, CA for this festival. I thought of CRZ when I saw that Kraftwerk was going to be playing there among the insane amount of groups scheduled for this years show. Current lineup includes:

SUNDAY:
The Cure
Wilco
Air
Belle and Sebastian
Basement Jaxx
The Thrills
Moving Units
Mogwai
Dizzee Rascal
Prefuse 73
Sidestepper
T. Raumschmiere
Seb Fontaine
Sage Francis

DAY UNKNOWN:
The Flaming Lips
Le Tigre
The Streets
!!!
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Bright Eyes
Death Cab for Cutie
The Sleepy Jackson
My Morning Jacket
The Crystal Method
Paul Van Dyk

I'll probably go for at least Sunday. I've gone in the past, but only for one of the two days. I'd love to do both days, but it's a huge drain on the wallet.

Also, I'm not sure how correct that list is, because this list (NME.com) is supposedly official and doesn't quite match up with yours. Still, the lineup looks incredible.

The list I used is off the msg board on the Coachella website and is generally assumed to be correct. Though new adds (like Desert Sessions) wouldn't be on yet as that list is 2 days old that I posted.

My college roommate (who corralled me into going in '99) has called me asking if I want to go. I KINDA want to go, but I'm not sure I've talked Kim into it yet. Also, it conflicts with the weekend of the WFMU vinyl fair.

There's also ALSO the matter of Kraftwerk playing the Warfield on the 27th, so I don't know if I can work a schedule around seeing them HERE and then getting down THERE in time.

The main problem with Coachella is, with two or three main stages and three or four tents, I usually end up missing two people when three people I wanted to see perform at the same time. That, and it's usually 100 degrees, without a lotta shade, and water is expensive, and....

Kraftwerk, Belle & Sebastian, Air, Wilco, Radiohead, Flaming Lips, Stereolab... it's funny, add The Rolling Stones and the Who to this list and you have my top ten favorite groups.

Me and my roommate Paul decided on going 2 months ago when we heard Kraftwerk was playing. It rather hurts the wallet though at paying $140.00 for the weekend PLUS airfare, but his brother lives 40some odd miles away from the site so we're sleeping there.

The official lineup went online on Sunday. Click Here (coachella.com)

I probably won't be going, though. I was planning to go Sunday for The Cure, but there are more artists I want to see on Saturday. And I'm just not that enthused about seeing Radiohead. So, 75 bones seems like a little too much to pay for a lineup that doesn't excite me. Toss in all the factors that CRZ mentioned and it looks like a no-go.

Of course, i could always WIN tickets like I did in '99. That would change my outlook I'm sure.

If anyone actually does go, make sure you check out the Electric Six. Excellent band from Detroit Rock City.

Oh YES. If you wanna know what they're about, Camp Chaos did a clip of Bush and Blair, accompanied to Electric Six's "Gay Bar". I've converted almost everyone that's seen it.
