Just curious whether anyone else caught what CNN did saturday around midnight in the follow-up of the Ponderosa sniper shooting incident.
While they were giving all the details and talking about how serious the sniper incidents are becoming, they cut to a live shot of a group of cops on the scene talking. Which is alright, you need to put something on the screen.
But within about 15 seconds of them going to the shot you could see one cop making all kinds of dramatic gestures with his arms and then he started smiling and all the rest of the cops started laughing and yucking it up. It was pretty obvious that the he was telling a joke and then the other cops started telling stories and what not.
Now I personally don't think there is anything wrong with cops not acting all grim and sad just because they're at a crime scene, but CNN stuck with this shot for about five minutes and i just think that was very dumb on their part.
Anyone else see it? Working in the TV news industry I've seen a lot of news blooper moments and this was truly a news comedy moment.
Classic line though comes from one of the geniuses on MSNBC: Do you think the sniper is living amongst us? (No you genius, they live on a hovercraft floating about the D.C. region). Remember, if your a moron, you can be on TV.
I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.
