Our friends in Mexico may be able to answer this one.

I believe I read somewhere about the great CMLL (Conseja Mundial de Lucha Libre) promotion putting on a pay-per-view broadcast on March 17. Due to "another PPV" that same day, it was not seen in the United States or Canada, according to my sources.

Since the "another PPV" sucked ass (get over it... it did), I was wondering if this CMLL one - if it happened - was any good? Anybody got some details on this show? If it even went down...

Yes, the PPV happened. None of the CMLL PPVs have been on in the United States as of yet.

Your various tape traders on the net will have it probably in the next couple weeks.

I believe the Observer has a more detailed report somewhere (almost like I've heard about it on this very board - hey, http://www.liveaudiowrestling.com/wo/news/headlines/default.asp?aID=4605) but IIRC, the highlights were

- Veneno loses his mask Gran Markus
- Fuerza/Panther/Wagner win the trio titles
- Rayo/Shocker/Vamprio beat Tarzan/Ultimo/Bucannero

The lineup didn't look tremendously promising, no idea on how it turned out.

I believe there was some wackiness involved.

Word had leaked out that the tecnicos would win the Trios match and defend against, I think, the Infernales on the next show.

So, in a Bill Watts-like manner, they changed the result of the match on teh PPV.

I'm happy, cuz I'm a huge DR wagner mark.
