From the recap:

I must admit, it's about two minutes in (to this beatdown) and all I'm doing is watching Vampiro and hoping he'll do something goofy I can commit about. Well, besides that hair.

Cubs - that is so true. That's exactly what I was doing too! The rest of the guys could have been pulling mvoes out of their asses, but I was sitting there looking at Vampiro, thinking is this Vampiro? He looked slow and looked as if he didn't have a freakin' clue what the other guys wanted him to do.

And what is up with Porky? Good gawd, he's immense!!

He certainly is. That seems to roughly be his gimmick. Big Fat guy who looks pretty grotesque and occasionally dances and humps his shirt. Although at this point, I've been able to reduce my shock over his girth, focusing instead on the horrendous blading scars on his forehead. Look for it next time they do a closeup. Actually, don't do that.

Chris-Notes most of the bad wrestlers in CMLL tend to have giant forehead scars.

Quite a few of the good ones too, though.

Well, I guess they very best ones still have their masks and so forth so never mind.

Too late, Chris. When Porky was doing the bit at the burger stand, I saw the closeup on the scars. Man, what a mess! So how does this work? The blading scars take the focus off the immense girth or vice versa?

And Cubs - what the hell time does this show run tonight anyway?

It stats at 5 EST, assuming they don't flip around AAA and CMLL for no reason, but when it ends no one knows (well, I hope someone does but they're not telling me)

I usually refer to Porky as Mexico's Dusty Rhodes -- fat, but with weird charisma and big huge scars.

Of course, Dusty didn't constantly lose hair vs hair matches, nor did he have a pig that was stolen.

Yeah, after I posted, I was all "Hey, Villano III has some pretty deep grooves himself, and he's pretty good, and he used to be really good, so I hear." The only old V3 I saw was the mask vs. mask with Benoit (who gave the most Canadian promo in the history of time, although he failed to say "Let's get 'em, Beef!"). And I'd wager Santo is probably tracked up pretty well. Still, Porky's got that creepy diagonal one. EEEEWWWW.

Yeah, pieman, I've been able to take my mind off Plata's giant fatness by looking at something else. I was getting distracted by the fact that he always looks like he's either gonna vomit or have a heart attack when he has a match. Although mostly I just use that FF button, as I get all of this on tape. Porky tends to not be in good matches.

It's on at 5 tonight? Damn, I need to go email the guy who tapes them for me.

Chris-And Dusty isn't in an ongoing series of segments facing a giant sandwich. VIVA LA TORTA!

Wait a minute, I think I screwed up the time difference again - that'd be 7EST because EST is an hour later than CST, right.

My mind's not working since Sunday.

And Cubs - it's daylight savings time now. Does that make a difference too? Or is it still 7 EDT?

WTF? Nonono, Daylight savings time is over. We're now on standard. The only time you need to save daylight is in the fall/winter, when there's less of it. That's why we have it.

Isn't it actually the other way around?

We're now on [x]DT, not [x]ST. Daylight Savings Time, I thought, was actually to get more light for the farmers, especially in the evening.

Farmers get the same amount of daylight either way. Those that I know (mostly dairy) keep two different clocks. One to keep their milking schedules, and one for "city events".

I just wish I could get CMLL. It sounds too cool.

Sorry, Jag, but what we just started here on the East coast on Sunday was Daylight Savings time.
