TKG: So the new thing they're doing is captain's face heel mic work before matches. Its really weird as GDR is still also doing the shooty interviews as bumpers. So you have a rudo talking about his children and the importance of his wife at one point then three minutes later have another rudo all in character talking trash. Well anyway Nitro rules on the stick. I mean really feels like a guy who has good enough mic skills to be a main event heel in Puerto Rico or some regional lucha promotion.
TKG: Dr. X's mask
PAS: Yeah Dr. Xís mask was amazing, if I was in the Nation, or if I was Straight Edge I would wear that mask to work.
WHAT DIDN'T WORK:
TKG: Mazda, Dr. X, Pantera vs. Los Tigres just fell apart completely. Fell apart before the death of Tigre Metalico. Rey Tigre looked Chamaco Velasquez Jr awkward. The non-Rey Tigre parts of the first fall were good and then it just fell apart in a really ugly way as just two falls of one blown move after another untill someone got hurt.
PAS: The triple tope was nice, but this really was the worst of Robert Bihari style lucha libre, a lot of Momentas wrestlers looking pretty lost in a full match. For a roided weirdly tall luchadore, Rey Tigre may be worse then Lizmark Jr.
TKG: I really have nothing good to say about the main event either. I think the second fall which started as weak brawl that was eventually calmed into a match was what really fucked it up as just their wasn't enough to the brawl to make you care and the whole thing was filled with way too much Hijo del Pierroth. The finish where Black Warrior beats a maesto with his own move really was ruined by how poorly the move was done. Are they giving Black Warrior a legend killer gimmick? Thats silly. I did like La Mascara's drop kick to spread legged opponent spot (as the hetero version of his cousins shoveing ass into spread legged opponent spot). The two really need to team.
PAS: I donít get why El Hijo Del Pierroth still does his Salsa dance sell when he gets hit. He isnít working the Salsero gimmick anymore. It would be like Art Barr still doing silly string spots while working as Love Machine. There was one nice section of mat work between El Hijo Del Pierroth and La Mascara, but otherwise this wasnít very good. This really was a promising show on paper, but crap in actuality.
You're right that the exaggerated power walk has always been a Vince trademark, but I agree that during the last two weeks, he has been especially careful to really pound his feet against the stairs on his way up.
