I missed Lawler's Hulk/Loki comparison at the end of the match during my initial viewing. While apt, we have an early contender for most obviously-fed line of the year.
This match was incredible.

I loved Punk kicking out of the AA, and I'm still stunned -- STILL -- they let Miz do that at Mania.
RAW is 3 hours. Let's see longer matches more often.
I agree that this should end, for a time, the Cena/Punk feud, and I look forward to Punk's post-Mania angle. Give him someone new to work against. A newly de-titled Antonio would be fine opponent.

STF reversed into anaconda vice reversed into crippler crossface! Cena's head smacking against the wall on that suicide dive. CENABOMB! Cena being thrown into the pole looked great. Hurricarana was very nice.
Of course, the PUNKDRIVER was completely unexpected and I wish Cole would have played up that it is a banned move.

How? It's never been talked about on TV as being banned. Punk wasn't disqualified for using it. Undertaker still uses the Tombstone.
Maybe Zeb Coulter should have come out with a green screen behind him, explain to people that Phil just did a banned move, and then told Cena and Punk to get back in character.

Well, this actually could've been the finish. Punk hits the piledriver and gets DQ'ed since it's an illegal move. Punk and Heyman flip out and claim they're being discriminated against since "the Tombstone is legal" and then GONG.
Of course, that finish would've made Cena look weak, Punk look dumb (for using an illegal move) and Punk/UT is already big enough on its own without needed a storyline based around legal or illegal maneuvers.

I thought TNA handled it well when Eric Young was using it. They said it wasn't illegal but there was an unwritten code that wrestlers didn't use it because it was too dangerous.
I don't currently have access to a TV, so I think it's absolutely wonderful that WWE immediately put this up, not only on YouTube but on WWE.com. And it includes the exclusive WWE App content during the commercial breaks! Love it!!
Instant classic is right. What a brilliant, intense match!

Even more weird because as KJames199 pointed out, it's not an illegal move. To the average fan watching, they may as well ring the bell after a superplex and have Cole yell that (surprise!) the superplex was secretly made illegal and so Punk is disqualified.
It's a banned move in the sense of: if you use it, Vince will consider banning your career from existence. There's never been any mention of it being reason for a ref to end a match.
Cheers for the link. I think your right- XPW is a bit rubbish...they (the DVDs) came as a 'bonus' with a load of ROH I bought off a friend (just for the record).
