I like to think that as a part of his meta, wink-wink, nudge-nudge, internet-savvy persona, Punk dates whoever is currently popular with the smarks. It keeps his cred up.

Can't wait for "Summer of Love: Punk & Kharma", a new reality series on WWE Network!

Does Punk have a history of shady breakups, or are they just normal "things don't work out" break ups that EVERYONE has, but if remote celebrities have them, they make headlines. (even if its just wrestling dirt-sheets and fan sites.)

I know he has certainly dated or slept with a lot of women, but is his reputation that he cheats on them/treats them poorly, or does he just have an awesome roster of ex's? Just trying to figure out what the supposed negative of his dating lifestyle is that would be demeaning to women.

Edit: Maybe I missed a really well known episode, but my knowledge of the situation is simply that Punk has dated a lot of hot wrestlers.

The rumor was that he was banging Traci Brooks when he was in TNA, would do an ROH show on Saturday and bang Daphne and kept this up for awhile. Of course that was years ago if it was even true.

Will Chris Brown be in Austin's corner in New Jersey?

This. Really poor choice of words. No doubt Chris Brown is a violent and unrepentant scumbag, but half the people shitting on him in this thread have no problem with Steve Austin. And CM Punk outright admires the man and wants to work with him.

I have a massive problem with Steve Austin. Even then, the argument could be made that Austin's shown a lot more contrition for his crimes and worked a lot harder on himself as a person than Chris Brown seems to have done. Brown's entire view seems to be that anyone who has a problem with what he did to Rihanna is a "hater". And what's more disturbing is that America by and large seems to agree.

A few female friends of mine think everyone should just get over what Brown did because "we all made mistakes and he is a very talented man."

It boggles the mind...

I don't think that's true at all. I think by and large, people think he and what he did are deplorable. But there's nothing to be DONE about it, except not support his career, not buy his music, and ignore him.

Punk was on CNN Headline News Showbiz Tonight last night via telephone (I hope that's good enough for John Cena, not physically being there) but not much was furthered.

Which makes her, at the very least, an idiot.

Hey, Chris Brown also steals girls' cell phones. (vulture.com) He just seems like such a delightful chap.

No. Emotionally & psychologically damaged.

She needs help with her issues that drive her back to self-destructive choices. There's a lot of commonality with alcohol or drug abuse, where the abuser is the drug, although isn't as widely viewed that way.

My uncle used to work in a hotel in NYC where Rihanna was a frequent guest, and he tells me that she arrived there plenty of times completely destroyed drunk and possibly (to his estimation) on drugs. It might just be the "rock star" lifestyle I guess, but between that and going back to Chris I'd say emma is right and Rihanna needs some help.

Aside from that, I'm a huge CM Punk fan but I wouldnt put it past him to pick a fight with Chris Brown at a time he knew he would be on TV wrestling with someone that would make him look like a million bucks in the ring (DBryan).

Is it shameless self-promotion? Maybe not entirely, but CM Punk did kind of start this out of nowhere.

Not out of nowhere. In that HLN video he says one of he followers suggested he fight Chris Brown. Plus Brown has been all over the news since the Grammys.

That is true, I'm not saying I don't believe Punk; I'm just saying I don't know for sure if he purposefully instigated. Of course I'm probably (90% probability!) reading too much into Punk's possible intentions but I'm just saying that I wouldnt be surprised if him picking a fight for attention was the case.

It's possible, but if Brown hadn't have replied 18 times (I think that's how many Punk said he got) then it would have died with just a one time tweet. Punk may have instigated it, but Brown is the one that poured gasoline on the fire.

The conspiracy theorist in me is wondering if Punk isn't using this in part as a way to build up a female fan-base. The one big knock against him right now is that whenever he's on tv, the female viewers turn away in droves. Once Brown replied back, it gave Punk a great opening to release a video praising women's rights. The guy is also smart enough to pull something like this off.

The only women's rights I see Punk championing is the right to get in their pants. :>

Is there some sort of evidence that supports even the base concept of this crazy statement?

Every day Meltzer goes through the quarterly ratings for Raw or Smackdown, he goes out of his way to say that almost every segment Punk is in, the ratings dip at least a bit. He always makes a point of the female viewers turning away during his (and usually Miz's) segments.

Some of the biggest drops in viewers from segment to segment this last year have been in segments that feature Punk, to the point that WWE started putting his "Main Event" matches in the middle of an hour, with Cena both at the start and the end of those hours if possible.

Some of the overruns with Punk in them have been dreadful. Remember when Punk, Daniel Bryan, and Ryder were in the main event as a team and Punk had said something like "Do you like the looks of us? Get used to it!" I believe that was the one and only night we had to get used to it. The drop was so sharp that week (I believe the worst drop ever) that the next week Punk's match replaced a spot normally given to a throwaway match like a diva's or Funkasaurus one. Bryan I believe didn't get a match and ran down to the ring for a minute, and Ryder was paired up with Eve. The male audience didn't change much in most of Punk's segments, but the female viewership continued to drop seemingly each time.

I remember the lack of heat in the Battlebowl battle royal being almost painful. Just a horrendously booked show. Of all the people involved in the tournament you'd be hard pressed to book a worse line-up in the battle royal than they did.
