I don't like the idea of a film where you never see the thing that people are running from. Much like Blair witch. honestly who is going to see this or has any other info on this? The trailer if you haven't seen it is on the movie website http://www.cloverfieldmovie.com/ (edited by yamcha on 2.12.07 1006) Promote this thread!

A la "Breakout". Don't know if the villain is a monster or group of monsters or space alien or robot or Ktulu himself. I'm hoping for a robot from space, although that would be pretty close to Transformers. Giant lizard has been done, giant ape has been done. Not sure.

If the movie is just about the panicked reaction, then what's causing the panic in the first place is a big McGuffin.

And disaster films are terrible. I seriously hope there's some kind of giant monster, otherwise I'll take a pass on it.

So unless it's a very small, angry waterspout, it's indeed a monster.

I'm still holding out hope its a Clifford the Big Red Dog movie.
This wasn't quite as bad as critics would have you think. The story's mystery is actually pretty good. The movie is dark and surprisingly violent, but it's funny when it needs to be. As you might expect, Gary Oldman rules your world, and mine too.
