Well, due to a "commissioner's order", Roger Clemens is in the All-Star game, and Barry Zito is not. Zito found this out today, as he was tossing a ball around at US Cellular Field, the site of the All-Star game. Clemens, I think, either knew well in advance or was as shocked as everybody else when he found out. I'm leaning (like the Tower) to the former. This is just bullshit. Why wasn't there a "commissioner's decision" to get Pedro into the game, who deserves it as much (or more) than Clemens? He could conceivably have 14 wins this year, but Clemens gets in with his record and the 300th win. I hope Clemens gives up the game-winning home run or gets smacked in the face by a line drive.

Sometimes I ask myself why I watch WWE after all the crap it's given me. HLA, necro, HHH, and so on. And then it hits me. That one simple phrase that can be modified and used for anything that gets you down, yet makes you keep coming back.

Every episode has the potential to be the best one ever, and I'll be damned if I'm going to miss it after sitting through this shit.

Hmm, Scioscia and Clemens on the same team?
Maybe Clemens will think he's a chicken, thus ruining the Yankees for the rest of the season. Scioscia can manage the Angels from a hospital bed, no doubt.

Over 1700 posts and still never a Wiener of the Day! But I'm not bitter!

I am far from the biggest Roger fan, but the guy should be on the team. He is having a solid year, and this is his last go-around. Ripken made it in his last season, and he was nowhere near the level at his position that Clemens is at his. True, Ripken was voted on, but the fans couldn't very well vote in Roger, could they? You know they would have. Did you hear that ovation the guy got during introductions? I don't get it either - I can't imagine anyone, except fellow pitchers on his team, really likes the guy much anyway. The way they went about putting him on the roster was totally fucking stupid and transparent, but the guy should have been there in the first place. Pedro also, although when Pedro announces his last season, he will certainly be there as well.

The memories of my family outings are still a source of strength to me. I remember we'd all pile into the car - I forget what kind it was - and drive and drive. I'm not sure where we'd go, but I think there were some trees there. The smell of something was strong in the air as we played whatever sport we played. I remember a bigger, older guy we called "Dad." We'd eat some stuff, or not, and then I think we went home. I guess some things never leave you.

If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

Yes, he should be on the team, but gugs wasn't referring necessarily to Clemens being on the team, just the manner in which he was placed on it at the expense of Zito.
