I quit awhile ago for 8 months. The patch worked well, I started on level 2, level one is for insane smokers...I was smoking about 3/4 of a pack a day. I started up again but now I only smoke about 5 cigs a day, but if I go out drinking LOOK OUT, a pack in a couple hours and ash tray mouth in the morning

I don't even smoke and those ads ae getting on my nerves. I can't stand the "smarter than thou" types who think they're imparting some kind of great wisdom by telling people that smoking is bad for them... so pretentious it's sickening.

| #24 Posted on 16.2.02 1034.53 | Yep, CDN$7.00 is about what I pay most of the time...
That was the one thing about going to school in Virginia for a year: cigarettes were USD$1.82/pk and sometimes you could get two-for-one, or 50 cents off.
Here in Nova Scotia the entire notion of `cheaper smokes' has reserved solely for those who purchased machines, loose tobacco, and empty filter tubes (which more and more people are doing now that per-pack prices have risen so high). We're seeing some factory floor scraping brands now, but there's no such thing as a `sale' on tobacco products.
But if you really want to know the difference between Canadian and American smokes, follow this linky here. I don't know how I manage to look past it, but I do.
Hrm... now I need a smoke.

| #28 Posted on 18.2.02 0646.18 | Well, in England is about 4.50ukp, or $7.50US for a pack. Time to try another method of killing myself.
IMO, the best anti-smoking ad was the British one with John Cleese. He up-ended a bowl onto the table and said "This is the amount of ash produced by a 40-a-day smoker"
(pause)
" .. of course, they're not all cremated"
