EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - The Christian Ponder era seems to have arrived.
Jason La Canfora of NFL.com is reporting the Minnesota Vikings will start the rookie quarterback Sunday against the Green Bay Packers. NFL.com says a league source told the news to La Canfora.
Tuesday afternoon, La Canfora tweeted "Vikings are changing QBs. Leslie Frazier has made the change and notified those involved. Christian Ponder takes over as starter."
At Monday's weekly press conference, Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said he would announce this week's starting quarterback on Wednesday.
Ponder made his NFL debut Sunday night in Chicago during the fourth quarter of the Vikings' 39-10 loss to the Bears. The rookie completed nine passes for 99 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions.
The 23-year-old Ponder was the Vikings first round pick in April's NFL Draft. The Vikings selected the Florida State quarterback with the 12th overall pick.
Sunday's Viikings-Packers game is a 3:15 p.m. start at Mall of America Field. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really, REALLY, want to just scream FUCK YEAH~!, but we'll just have to wait and see. He looked pretty decent Sunday night, and as soon as he took the field, the rest of the Vikings body posture took on a whole new life.| Promote this thread! | | wmatistic

I don't have a favorite NFL team I follow, but I found myself checking out the Vikes every week to see if Ponder got to play. Hoping he does well this week. | It's False
