I applaud this man. And I hope they take a second look at him. His release was one of the more questionable in my opinion.

I'm curious how WWE feels about this sort of thing. They could take it as "hey, he's working hard to get himself over", or they could hold a grudge. It's totally reasonable for somebody who's been cut loose -- particularly for an Independent Contractor, ahem -- to "go into business for himself". But I can see The E not much liking it. It's a whole degree of NIH -- Not Invented Here -- if we didn't come up with it, & we don't control it, then it's something we'd better be leery of.

I'd been liking Chris a lot on this run, when I'd seen him on NXT or Superstars at live shows. (Which, BTW, is a complete 180 from his first run, when I had no use for him at all.) So, Chris, do you even know who it was that you pissed off?

It appears Youtube videos got Zack Ryder on Smackdown, and possibly even saved his job, so not a big surprise that all under-used wrestlers are gonna be flocking to it.

If only Masters was able to show this kind of charisma on TV.

I heard him do a radio interview on Pro Wrestling Report right after he was released, and he was surprisingly charismatic. He may be one of those guys who has trouble translating it via scripted promos.

If nothing else he filled the Val Venus/Hardcore Holly role as guy you go through when climbing the card or starting a new gimmick.

In the videos, he seemed like a genuinely nice, likeable guy. That itself takes charisma.

Looking back over the past 30 years in boxing and in wrestling, there is one constant: Heavyweight champions that go to Africa are cursed. Boxing Foreman/Ali: Foreman is the heavy favorite to destroy Ali and retain his title.
