Am I the only one who thinks Jericho looked pretty damn intense last night? When he is stiffly chairshotting everyone in sight and is the last man standing because of luck and intelligence that's how he looks "intense". I am a big fan of Jericho, and always have been. I love his work in the ring. And lord knows I am not the president of the Triple H fan club but anyone in the world can see he's beaten Jericho every time they've fought, and not in the way RVD would beat Jerry Lynn, and you know one day he was going to beat this guy. No. He just beats him. There was no excuse for the Hell in the Cell win at Judgement Day. Trips wasn't the champ, he was in the midst of failing as a babyface and everyone knew he was turning, and Jericho needed the bump up. He got nothing. Not even a phantom submission when he had Hunter in the walls on top of the cell. And he's never going to get anything from Triple H.

For the record, Jericho's "you will not look passed me" speech against the Rock gave me goosebumps, moreso than anything Ric Flair's said in the last ten years.

Who pissed in your cornflakes? Oh, wait. It was me. My apologies.

Some other great Jericho WCW moments:

- going to the Library of Congress during the whole Conspiracy Victim run

- the Juvy/Lenny Lane angle

- crying when his dad came out to bury him

- thrashing Joe Malenko during the Stinko feud

This is intense:

This is not...

Not some of the best images, but you get the idea.

Jericho looks like an angry guy who is about to get his ass kicked. The other guys look like they're about to kick it.

Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)

Vikings (2-7) - I don't know. I didn't see it. Just saw that we lost.
Badgers (6-5) - Slipping into mediocrity six weeks in a row.
Buffy 7.Uhh Whatever this last one was earns a 7.00000314159 because the begining was terrible, but the meat of the episode was hillarious. But filler. Just like most of Season One...Is this some kind of whacky time warp?

Those images absolutely rock, but are probably not the best representation of Jericho's total personna.

If you need an intense image of Jericho, go to his feud with Austin earlier this year and find a picture of Jericho smashing Austin's head with a cooler and dumping beer all over him. Now THAT was intense.

Go to the feud with the Rock and find the moment when they finally confronted each other after weeks of buildup. Jericho was sitting on a stretcher with blood pouring down his face and Rock smarted-off to him. The look Jericho gave him just before jumping on him could have melted lead.

I know: spurts of intensity do not an intense wrestler make, but hey, he's had some intense moments.

As a face, Funny Jericho is better, and his size makes him a good underdog against the uber-heels like Brock and HHH. But an underdog comedy wrestler isn't going to win titles. Except Rock. But Rock has something that Jericho lacks...

    Intensity.

Excalibur, I agree with that. Check the last statement in my original post in this thread and you will see that I would like to see Jericho become more balanced with his comedy and intensity, like The Rock, Stone Cold, Kurt Angle, and HHH.

And, one picture doesn't tell the complete story. Jericho is capable of intensity.

This, however, is not intensity!

Somehow this always gets brought up, but his "accomplishments" are decieving. Though he indeed has a string of title wins in the WWE, you have to admit he's been booked to look like a pussy, job to everyone constantly and basically be un-over with the fans.

Booked to be un-over?

If Vince McMahon can make money off of you, he will. If he isn't already, he'll try. Backstage politics aside, and there haven't been any real horror stories of Jericho, Vince still has final say.

In short, Vince has always booked people to make him the most money, thus, to be over. And, as a man who's beaten Austin and the Rock by cheating, Jericho is enough of a heel. Remember, cheating is how heels get over.

Horror stories about Jericho? WHENEVER HHH is around Jericho is goin through hell. Why is it that the last few months of 2001 we were all singing the praises of Jericho? Its because he was doing great work. He was in a high profile feud with the Rock and a smaller one with Austin. And he was more than holding his own. And he won the first undipsuted title by beating the two biggest stars in the history of wrestling on the same night.

But as soon as HHH comes back in January hes moved back down the card. He fueds with HHH but hes made to look like a chump when face to face with HHH EVERY TIME. In fact they make him him Stephanies bitch boy while SHE fueds with HHH. HHH badmouths him on a radio show, HHH beats him at WM18, and Jericho is once again doing basically nothing while HHH is rewarded for his blown face turn by being able to turn back heel, given a title and make EVERYONE his bitch in the WWE. His promos are boring, his character is stale, and the only good match hes had since 2000, he has to be carried by a cripple. Now the ratings are at an all time low, attendance is down, yet HHH remains untouched while people are questioning Jerichos skills when a year ago he was head and shoulders above where HHH is now. I dont know what exactly happens backstage but the fact is Jericho seems to kept at a level below Hunter all the time. Why? somebody tell me...

Renegade,Mistress of Darkness says:

Hmm...Jericho's lacking in intensity? Let me dig out a quote from Jericho to Crock earlier this year...

Jericho-"NO!!! NO NO NO NO NO!! THIS IS NOT A JOKE! I AM NOT A JOKE! I AM SERIOUS! AND YOU WILL NOT LOOK PAST ME, YOU STUPID SON OF A BITCH!"

Jericho is capable of intensity, the problem is that he doesn't use it enough.

And as an answer to your question, rockdotcom_2.0, Jericho doesn't sleep with Vinny's daughter.

Jericho:"And I think after the match, you should come back to my dressing room and get what you REALLY want...an injection of Vitamin.....C."
Me:Forget about Trish, you can inject me ANYDAY!

I also think that Y2J has some real intensity, and I certainly didn't look past him after that promo.

Now this is the best reasoning behind HHHaters yet. While I don't agree with all of it, you can't deny that Rockdotcom has a point about the Jericho vs. HHH feuds.

Jericho's biggest problem is that he looks young. He's got a baby face (no pun intended) and he's a few inches smaller than the other guys. That's why, when he's attempting to look intense, he can't pull it off as well as the other guys.

I can't believe we're having this discussion about Jericho and his intensity. Was I the only one watching RAW on Monday besides Hogans My Dad? He was the freaking man all night long. When he smacked Christian with the chair for even MENTIONING that he MIGHT be in the match if someone gets hurt, were you paying attention? Did you watch as he worked over HBK and posed as the credits rolled? He can do intense, kids.

The promo that you all have been talking about was golden. However, anytime those two hook up on the mic, it's brilliant. Go back as far as his WWF debut. Remember the promo where each of them were stealing their catchphrases. These two bring out the best in each other.

Some people say that Jericho hasn't been booked to look strong. Was the Honky Tonk Man ever booked to look strong? No! That's what made him such a great heel. You KNEW he was going to get his ass handed to him, but he found ways to win time and time again.

I am a Jericho fan of the highest degree. The man rocks and we all know it.

It's not that he's been booked to look weak, but every program he's been in with HHH he was booked to be a total bitch. The only time he went over HHH was the first time they faced each other and that was overturned. With the right people Jericho is one of the best they've got. As long as HHH is banging Steph, Jericho will always be his bitch and that sucks. I suppose the same can be said for the whole Raw roster.

So what happens if Jericho ever gets moved back to SD! and gets to feud with the Gang Of Six and/or Lesnar? I'd love to see Jericho/Mysterio myself.

well, you know Jericho/Benoit is always money. Myself, I'd be in pure heaven for an Angle/Jericho feud, though.

I don't think that was a strong story, and the buyrates/ratings don't either. Austin and Rock tried to make it work, but really, there was no reason for Austin to agree to face The Rock at WrestleMania again.
