That's Chris Henry, Wide Receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, not Chris Henry, Running Back for the Tennessee Titans and later Houston Texans.

SBB had a twitter source in that link that said he was dead. It has now been upgraded to say he is alive. Let's hope they have it right at this point.

...and looking at further posts from that Twitter, it's pretty clearly a fake.

Sportsline.com had his death as "breaking news" for a few minutes, citing "multiple internet sources," but took it down soon after.

Adam Schefter is confirming that the Twitter is fraudulent.

Not to make light of the situation, but why in the blue hell would you jump in the back of a pickup being driven by somebody you just had a huge fight with?

It's just been confirmed on ESPN.com (sports.espn.go.com) and Sportscenter.

You wonder how this is going to affect the Bengals for the rest of the season. They seemed to have changed their attitude (as had Henry) while becoming a legit contender for the playoffs. Now with his death (and with the attention the events that took place with him and his fiancee right before are going to recieve), how are they going to keep their focus on the remaining games? I just can't see how they are going to pull it off.

It's hard to say. You would have expected the Redskins to collapse two years ago after Sean Taylor died, and instead they ended the season on a four game winning streak and made the playoffs.

(That being said, if it was ME, I'm sure I'd be useless for days.)

This makes me incredibly sad, and I'm not even sure why. I have no particular attachment to the Bengals, West Virginia, or Chris Henry. I guess it's because I love a good comeback story and I really appreciate it when a troubled athlete works hard to rehab his image and get his life in order. This is just depressing.
