MORE DETAILS ON DEATH OF CHRIS BENOIT & FAMILY By: Bob Ryder 6/25/2007 6:36:57 PM
Details remain very sketchy regarding the tragic news today that Chris Benoit and his family were found dead at their Atlanta area home.
Benoit had been scheduled to appear on a WWE house show on Saturday. Sources tell us Benoit called to first say he would be taking a later flight, and then to say he would not be attending the house show due to a family illness. According to one source, Benoit said both his wife and son were throwing up blood and he needed to stay to take care of them.
At last night's Vengeance pay-per-view, Benoit was replaced in his match by Johnny Nitro.
No other details are available at this time and police are on the scene at the Benoit residence investigating.

Originally posted by someone on wrestlecrap's boardsI just got off of the phone with the Atlanta Police Department Information Hotline. I told 'em about the radio station I worked with to make it sound more legit and hopefully get some new information.
She said that she just recently started getting calls about a family found dead in their house. She said that she did not hear about anything similar to this and that is what "she was tellin' everyone". She also said that she has been watching the evening news for an hour, and still nothing.
One would think that they'd be reporting about three people found dead, yes?
My heart sunk when I read this thread title. I had to click it and read it a couple times to make sure I was actually reading what I thought I was. Nothing I can really say now other than what a shock and loss it is.
Some news sites are saying that tonight's show will be a 3 hour tribute show for Chris. No word on whether Vince will be there or not though.
Originally posted by The GoonI heard this on the radio driving home from work. I feel just sick.
I second that notion. I feel sick...and numb.
Benoit is, was, and will always be my favorite wrestler. I had the privilege of being at the Garden for WM XX--not only did I get to meet him and wish him good luck the day before, but then to get to see him actually win the belt was...simply amazing.
I haven't watched wrestling in over a year but will tune in tonight if they really are doing a tribute show.
Only heard rumors because I don't think anybody knows what TNA is doing, including themselves, but the rumor I heard is that Daniels will actually be gone for at least a few months wrestling in the Indys to make it look like TNA really fired him.
