Benoit manufactured one of the first "Holy Sh*t" chants on RAW in a while last night when he threw Spike out of the ring and through a table.

I think what made me say, "OMG" right there in my chair last night was the way he pulled off the move. He didn't make some big spectacle of it. He didn't scream "get the tables" and dance around. He just picked the dude up and chunked him over the ropes. By the time Spike hit the floor Benoit was on to his next victim. I like that.

Well, I guess "awhile" means about three weeks. Tell me you haven't forgotten the RVD/Eddie ladder match already?

As for "Holy Shit," personally, I think that along with various other EC Dub chants (namely people dropping the F bomb for Van Dam by calling him the "Whole F'n Show"). At King of the Ring I had to punk out a group of guys wearing ECW shirts because they were being loud and obnoxious (namely chanting "suck a dick" at all wrestlers they hated, you can tell we're dealing with some real brain surgeons here).

Is it so much harder to chant the wrestlers name after a big spot? I mean, who cares about Spike, he bumps big for everyone, but how hard is it to chant "Ben-Wah!" over "Holy Shit"?

As a Benoit Mark, I loved his entire match. The way the announcers sold the neck was like them selling kryptonite for Superman. "We don't think anybody can beat him...except with...the NECK!" Plus, the Wolverine-esque KILLING of Spike, followed by the patented "six-referees cannot break the Crossface" spot...GOLD!

Bart: Hey, immigrants! Beat it! Country's full!
Sailor: OK people, you heard the lady. Back into the hold. We'll try Canada.

Eh. How many times do we need to see Spike thrown from the ring through a table, anyway?
It's kind of getting old. Every time Spike goes even remotely airborne (especially if there's a freakin' table set up outside the ring), you just know his opponent's going to chunk him outside.
Still and all, the other Benoit bad-ass aspects of the match you guys are talking about were really good.

As far as chants in general, I'm sort of inclined to agree (the phenomenon of the "EC-Dub" chant, ignoring the actual wrestler, always sort of struck me as odd, and, well... cursing is too easy) but the ONLY time I ever thought Justin Credible was even remotely interesting was when I was chanting "Jus-tin Ass-hole, *clapclap, clapclapclap*" at him.

But Spike getting tossed over the top rope from a Dudley Dawg (if I call it the Acid Drop and refuse to use its new name, does that give me Smark cred?) is definitely NOT a "Holy Shit" moment. It happens every other time he tries it, these days.

While I may not have Smackdown in my area, the "She's a crackwhore *clap*clap*clapclapclap*" added a LOT to my admittedly minimal enjoyment of Hurricane vs. Noble at the KotR.

"Chris Beniot is here and he's really mad. Chris Beniot is here and he is very angry! Here we are with the Chris Beniot song. Is there any wrestler who can prove him wrong?!"

I don't know if this is the proper way, but I think this is Edge and Christian doing Beniot's theme on a kazoooooo. At anyrate. ths is what popped into my head after reading the title.

On June 27th, 2002, the Montreal Expos (number one on the MLB contraction list) added MONEY to their payroll, aquiring Bartolo Colon. In a time like this, there's two quotes that come to the forefront;

cfgb: "I hate to say it, but Atlanta really needs to be watching their rear ends".
And Number Two;

DJ FrostyFreeze: "PLEASE BELIEVE IT!"

Yeah, the song, that's what the title was supposed to invoke. And my original point wasn't "Spike going through the table was awesome" it was they way Benoit reacted to it, or didn't react to it. He just walked away to destroy his next victim. THAT'S what I thought was cool.

Man, I hated that chant! Granted I was bored stiff during the match, but the chant seemed like a big waste of time to me. First off, it doesn't make sense, and second off, it's offensive and vulgar to lil' kids! We need to protect the lil' kids people!

The point of the Holy Sh-t chant is to get over how impressive the spot was, so the chant was not about a wrestler, but a move. It could have been almost anyone throwing Lil Spike through a table, and afterwards I would rather pimp the spot than chanting "Benoit" or "Viscera" just because they were the ones who chucked Spike out of the ring this week.

Yes Luger was being groomed for the title, however the rumour I heard was that Luger was infact going to win the title at Wrestlemania X off yokozuna, and then have a big blow off match with Bret at Summerslam.
