PWInsider reports that Chavo Classic has no-showed both Sunday and Monday's house shows. Usually, this would be a case of ego, but the issue is now becoming that NO ONE has had any contact with Classic in recent days and NO ONE knows where he is.
I'm becoming a little concerned myself. No way this situation ends well. At best, this'll result in Classic returning and getting either punished or released. At worst, though, this could turn out to be tragic.
Enjoy the fresh taste of Chavo Classic and New Chavo! (Disclaimer: Exposure to Chavo Classic and/or New Chavo may lead to offbeat shenanigans)
Apparently, they found Chavo Classic. Then they fired him.
Sources tell 1Wrestling.com that Chavo Guerrero Sr (Chavo Classic) has been notified by the WWE that he has been released. Guerrero was the current Cruiserweight Champion and angered WWE management by failing to appear at scheduled appearances at Smackdown house shows over the weekend.
So the CruiserBelt is officially vacant and Smackdown just cannot seem to catch a break.
At least he's not dead or in prison. The cruiser belt has 3 options: Vacate the belt, phantom title switch or bury the belt. I'm actually afraid they might go with number 3. And, as has been the case the past few months: If Something Can Go Wrong On SD, It Will Go Wrong.
What's the difference between Sidney Ponson and a bucket of shit? The bucket.
Chavo Guerrero Sr., known as Chavo Classic on WWE TV, was released today. Management grew frustrated with his rejecting of recent storyline ideas to inject more humor into the broadcasts. Chavo Sr. apparently felt management was pushing things too far, trying to humiliate him, such as suggesting he parade around on TV in women's underwear.
I just hope that this doesnt cause any problems for Chavo or Eddie. Still sucks, though. As has been said, Classic was probably one of the best parts of the show.
And yeah, I'm curious as to how they're going to fill the time and what they're going to do with the belt now that he's gone. They haven't done anything to build up any serious contenders for the title outside of Chavo Jr. All the other cruisers have spent the better part of the last three months as jobber fodder for the Mordecais and Kenzo Suzukis save for maybe Rey, and the Rey/Chavo feud is just played out for now. Maybe Spike Dudley?
Well, see ya After Burn, it's been real. From what the Torch says, part of the reason he was let go was because he refused storyline ideas to add more humor to the shows, like Classic parading around in women's underwear (we did see him studying a thong at JD). Also, because of the skipping of house shows. Classic, we salute you for taking a stand.
(edited by Ringmistress on 15.6.04 1616) Suck it in, Hunter, or no sugar for you!
With the recent talk of possibly doing away with the division all together, I wonder if the belt will just magically disappear, never to be seen again.
-- Chavo Classic (aka Chavo Guerrero Sr.) was fired by WWE this afternoon, after no-showing two house shows in consecutive days.
-- The straw that broke the camels back was no showing last nights show in Springfield, IL, but there was a big chance that he wouldve been gone by this Sunday anyway.
-- Classic, who is currently the Cruiserweight champion, was originally written into tonights Smackdown! tapings, but those plans will obviously now have changed.

The funniest part of this is that he was brought in originally for a ONE-TIME cameo (helping along the Eddie Vs. Chavo feud), and not only did the guy manage to keep the job for about six months, they also gave him a belt!
If this is a major crisis for WWE, then their SmackDown division DEFINITELY has a problem.
Oh, wait, they already do.....

Anyone report where they found him? As far as I can tell, it was like the Orbitz ads... Bruce Pritchard's walking down a row of cubicles, hears Chavo snickering, then looks in:
"THERE you are. You're fired."
