Wow. I was just looking at his iMDB profile today (I thought I caught him doing a guest spot on The Cosby Show but it was another actor). He lived a long, productive life.

But his legacy as N.R.A spokesman will live on.

A true giant in the movie biz.

We were up at our usual early morning hour today (kids), the sound was muted on the tv and I saw all the clips on the news and guessed he had passed. I'm sure AMC will be showing all of his movies in a loop for a bit which is great, but I'm hoping whoever has the SNL re-runs will re-show the ep he hosted. Although I must confess that I would want to see it just as much for Paul Westerberg being the musical guest (and the hilarious/sad bit at the end where Mr. Heston can't remember Paul's name for the outro).

R.I.P. Mr. Heston.

It is a good rule in life never to apologize. The right sort of people do not want apologies, and the wrong sort take a mean advantage of them.

Yeah, definitely one of the top "hey, it's that guy" character actors. I first saw him in My Cousin Vinny, which was classic, but the first thing I think of with him is his fine work as Peter's boss on White Collar.
