Actor Charles Durning has passed on Christmas Day. I always enjoyed him and thought he stole many scenes in bit parts from The Sting to O Brother Where Art Thou.

He was 89.

Some interesting tidbits in that write up that I didn't know about him.

Thanks to HBO, I watched him in "Tootsie" and "To Be or Not to Be" about five times a day for three years.

He's in a very good movie called Never Forget (imdb.com), which was based on the story of Mel Mermelstein's fight with the Holocaust deniers at the Institute for Historical Review (yet another contribution Irvine as made to our society... sigh).
