LOS ANGELES - Charles Bronson (news), the Pennsylvania coal miner who drifted into films as a villain and became a hard-faced action star, notably in the popular "Death Wish" vengeance movies, has died. He was 81.
Bronson died Saturday of pneumonia at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with his wife at his bedside, publicist Lori Jonas said. He had been in the hospital for weeks, Jonas said.
Well this sucks, Kathrine Hepburn, Bob Hope, and now Bronson. I was always a fan of him, from the Great Escape and the Death Wish movies.

| #6 Posted on 1.9.03 1342.03 | I always was a fan of Charles Bronson. I loved everything from Death Wish, to The Family, to Breakout, but my favorite work of his was, believe it or not, a Twilight Zone episode he did back in the day wherein he and Elizabeth Montgomery were the last two people left on earth after a war between males and females wiped out the rest of the population. He had great chemistry with Montgomery, despite the fact that she didn't have any lines!
RIP Charles Bronson.

Barney: Where's Otis? Bronson: I shot him. Now I'm going down to Emmitt's Fix-It Shop to fix Emmitt."
Funny how I remember that dialogue first, before I can remember a real scene with Charles Bronson. My favorite role of his is still Danny, the Tunnel King, in "The Great Escape."
