I recently upgraded my phone for the 1st time in 4 years and got a package deal so that my wife got the same one.
I'm looking for a way to dowload MP3 files and pics directly onto the phone rather than pay for downloads from the cellular provider. The product that I've found seems to get mixed reviews including one that says his provider made it so he can't use the ringtones downloaded.
The phone is a Motorola V551,
the product is MOTOROLA USB Mobile Phone Tool Version 3.0: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006Z6LKM/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_1/104-0614950-5171141
Does anyone here have any experiance with this product or a substitute? This is the 1st phone I've had where you can download ringtones, backgrounds, ect... and the wife is already chomping at the bit to customize her phone. | Promote this thread! | | Maestroken

Edit: I found this link. http://anton.tbg.ru/files/p2kman.zip
Zims, if this is against the rules, I'll take it down.

I just picked up a v180 a few weeks ago and all I can find on the web is that you need to buy the USB drivers from your provider. | Jobberman

I have a V180, and the program I mentioned above works with it. All you need is a standard USB cable. | Guru Zim

I don't have this phone and have no idea what you have linked to.

It's not pirated, it is freeware. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something you frown upon. | Maestroken

OK maybe two, have you tried importing games & pictures?

Straight mp3's work, but you need to shrink the file size down. There is only about a meg of memory in those phones.
I have not tried importing any games, but I have imported a bunch of photos. 128 x 128 pixels is the limit I believe... |
