Anyone read the new Stephen King novel yet? I just finished it a day or two ago and it was pretty decent. I have to admit, that when I was reading it at the beginning when all the major stuff is going down, that my phone rang and I let it go to voicemail...

I thought King was retiring? He's had more books come out since announcing his retirement then then Flair's held world titles, it feels like.

Besides, wasn't his last good book, Needful Things, back in 1997? (Even though I'll admit to enjoying Storm Of The Century, as a teleplay.)

Anyway, Cell do seem interesting. I read the first three chapters at work and I almost bought it.

Needful Things actually came out around 1991, actually, and to say that that was his last good book is not true. Since then he has finished the Dark Tower series, written the amazing Insomnia, Black House, and Bag of Bones to name a few. Then again, he did write Dreamcatcher, which sucks.

He was retiring after finishing the Dark Tower series and decided that he "still had some stories left to tell". His next novel called Lisey's Story will be out this fall and there's actually a short preview of it at the end of Cell. Might be another winner.
