What a great ending to the season. Jonsey is dead and Sophie is now evil and apparently is bringing back Brother Justin so they can double team Ben next season. Now we know what "Sophie is the Omega" meant and why her mother has been trying to kill her. Wonderful wonderful ending. I loved it. This season was just spectacular.

Just because Jonesy was shot doesn't mean he's dead. Remember Stumpy saying how resourceful Jones can be. It's one of those things I'm not willing to believe until we are told that he is dead or until we see proof that he is dead. Also the corn dying could have just been Ben heeling himself as I'd imagine it would take a lot more than corn to revive Brother Justin. I have a feeling that Justin may very well be done as his tree was burning pretty wildly. A very good ending to a fast paced season none the less. I'm going to have to catch the recap tonight to soak more of it in.

Oh yeah, Samson is quite the crafty bastard with his scheme almost working.

Well, yeah, there's lots of variables that could very well be proven false by the end of the first episode of the next season. But for how that episode ended, we've been led to believe that Jonesy is dead and Brother Justin is being healed by a now evil Sophie. This was a much "worse" season ender than Season 1 with Sophie being in the burning bus. I don't know if I can wait a year for Season 3 to begin!

That was fabulous. Just... wow.

I'm with BDL on Jonsey not necessarily being dead. And even if he is at the moment, whether he necessarily stays that way. :-) And shooting Jonsey!? It's looking like the Omega makes the Usher look like a kindergartener on the evilness scale.

And I'm with MC on Sophie having brought back (or healed) Justin. He may not have his full power any more, but he probably still has whatever knowledge he had, which could be quite useful. Whether he retains his flock is a little questionable, after the killing rampage in the tent while he was trying to get at Ben.

We don't have a precedent on what happens to the Prophet of Darkness' body after he's destroyed; they never told us what actually happened to Scudder's body. However, we do know that when Management (the Prophet of Light) died, his physical body "ascended" within a fairly short time of his death. When the carnies find Ben the next morning, Justin's body is still hanging around. I was slightly suprised that Samson didn't actually verify that Justin was truly dead, either. So, one way or another, I'm pretty sure that Justin's not all done yet.

See Ben, you let Samson in on the rules, he's a damn helpful ally! The plan did almost work. Samson was absolutely all over on top of Justin's psychology. (Little tough on Iris, but that couldn't be helped.)

Pity Norman didn't get to be more useful after Ben healed him, but that's also the way the cookie crumbles, I suppose.

I'm also really happy that we didn't just get a cliffhanger. We got to a pretty good stopping point, opened the door on a whole bunch of new possibilities. But we didn't get left totally hanging on everything the way we did between seasons 1 & 2. (I suppose that's consistent with Dan Knauf's comments about it being a trilogy of 2 seasons per part.)

Wow.

(BTW, according to my TiVo schedule, it looks like they're rerunning all of season 2 on HBO2, starting 4/6. Seems that they're running a 4 hour (episode) block each night for 3 nights in a row. That'll be cool!)

While emma's track record is better than mine, I'm going to take a chance and say that Jonsey's done. There has to be at least one casualty of Sofie's turn, and who better than Jonsey.

Father and Daughter of evil united is a very cool concept to end on.

Poor Norman - after all of that sitting and not being able to do anything, to finally get a shot - boy, he went down quickly, and in fairly brutal fashion.

I really liked the pace of things this season. They really focused on an "Isn't everything just REALLY CREEPY?" mood, without too much gore.

It'll be interesting to see where they go from here.

The wait for the possible Season 3 opener will now be interminable. My wife and watched all of Season 1 on DVD right before Season 2 began so we didn't have to wait. This show has been worth the monthly cost of HBO.

We think Jonesey might really be dead, too. I think Sofie's evil turn needs a victim and with Jonesey dead, Libby will be pretty pissed at Sofie, methinks.

The imagery of Ben hiding as the scarecrow on the cross was pretty freaking vivid, as well. Nice touch.

I would really hate to see this series end of this note. I really hope Knauf gets all six seasons to really flesh this out.

I give this series 10 out of 10. Outstanding. I recorded all 12 episodes onto a couple of VHS tapes and we going to start over from Season 1 and watch all 24 again real soon.

Ok, I watched this episode, and I watched the on before...and regret that I have been missing this show. I feel like I've missed out on a whole lot, and will be trying to catch reruns and get the whole story of what happens.

I finally got to see it last night and I'm still processing it. It really was the perfect ending to the story we've been given so far. I just hope it's not all the story we're going to get.

Quick thoughts:

-It was just so surreal to see the Justin and Iris interact with the Carnies. I never thought I'd see the day.
-Sophie DEFINITELY healed Justin. The only question is where she got her new powers. The folks on the HBO boards insist she's pregnant with Ben's child, but I know how Daniel Knauf hates pregnancy speculation. I think it has something to do with her being Justin's child AND Management's grandchild.
-I'm sad to see Jonesy go, as I was really starting to dig his rapport with both Ben and Libby, but someone needed to die I guess.
-That last shot of Iris was unspeakably beautiful.

Nothing with this show is DEFINATE. It looked like Sophie was leaning down to heal Justin, true, but it looked like Sophie was dead in a burning bus at the end of last season.

The corn dying could've been Ben healing himself. Plus, I don't think just corn would be enough to bring back a life, especially one as powerful as Justin. The only other time we saw Ben heal somebody when only plants died was when he healed the little girl at the beginning of the first season.

I don't think Sophie healing Justin was the cause of the corn dying as it just isn't enough life to take to give to somebody else. That's not to say Sophie wasn't healing Justin, however. She did take Jonsey's life.

No, it would take more than corn. It took the powerful Lodz's life to revive the Snake Lady at the end of season one. However, if Jonesy is dead that could be enough if it can carry over that way.

It will be interesting to see if they continue on with the current story or double back to Management's and Scudder's story as I've heard that Daniel Knauf has planned a trilogy in three two season parts.
