Not real thrilled about sending Nelson Cruz along in the deal, but it appears Lee wasn't going to re-sign in Milwaukee. He rejected a 4 yr/$48 million deal last night. While that might be a low offer, it seems the Brewers needed to make the move.| Promote this thread! | | chill

Getting Lee to sign an extension will clearly be a priority. But getting Cruz as part of the deal... that's almost worth making the deal on its own. Texas just made a huge step toward securing their future's offense by acquiring Cruz.
As a Twins and Yankees fan, I say: DAMMIT!

You're a Twins AND a Yankee fan? Boy, there are just about the two most polar opposite run franchises out there.

What do you think the Oakland and Anaheim fans are saying? Texas is a lot closer to them than the Twins and Yanks. Lee is more than likely to turn the tide in the AL West race.

Nah, something tells me the Rangers still won't pull off a playoff appearance.
And F*CK F*CK F*CK is my reaction to "El Caballo" leaving the Brew Crew. Hell, I thought he wanted to re-sign...guess not.
Man, it's just like the Selig days...come trade time, send off your big guns and your best prospects for...not much.

If they pull a run like Atlanta has, I could have pictured them stealing the wild card, especially now that Ben Sheets is back. But who knows what the rationale is here? Maybe Kevin Mench will become a superstar in Milwaukee.

I was hoping Lee would sign with Minnesota or the Bombers - just to keep him away from the BoSox and Angels. So in hindsight... color me very happy with this trade!
