John Cena hasn't had a good match in a long, long time and this past SD was the first time in a while I found myself actually interested in a Cena match. I think a lot of it for me is due to Carlito bumping which he does very well and his offense isn't horrible at all. The little he was allowed to show, it looked okay.
And just as important as his inring work, he portrayed his character well. Much better than other OVWers that came up to SD in the past year or so for example like the Bashams. Also another test I think he past was that he was able take the step from pre-debut promos and in ring character, which I think was the problem with Mordecai who looked kind of cool in his vignettes but once he arrived he looked like a chubby teenager and not intimidating at all... So far Carly is playing the Carlito character well, he has to watch out not to overuse the word "cool" but day one I've been more overall impressed then I've ever been with a SD OVWer.
smark/net attack wienerville advisory holds at ORANGE alert - High (JBL is STILL WWE champion and now smarks arch enemy HHH is the World Champion. Major red threat, but the undercard seems okay. The alert holds... for now)- 9/19 | TVsTim

Not that this is a bad thing, mind you, given that most of the WWE's recent imports look like they were all crafted from the same "enhancement" factory. His unorthodox look might be one of the key factors in helping him get over, since "Triple C" definitely stands out from the rest of the roster. Of course, the same thing could have been said about Mordecai, and we all know how well THAT turned out.
Now, hopefully this means Cena is next in line to feud with Bradshaw (after Hardcore Holly gets done with his "main eventer by default" minifeud), although Booker T is seemingly about to be placed in that position as well. I would really love to see them try a three-way feud (ala HHH/HBK/Benoit) with Bradshaw playing both sides against the middle and hoping that they'll destroy each other before either one can take his belt.
