| #1 Posted on 1.10.04 1432.36 | Instant Rating: 3.60 | So back in March I started a thread regarding fundrace.org - which is a website that documents who your neighbors gave money too in the presidential race.
http://the-w.com/thread.php/id=18936
Pretty uneventful thread - so imagine my surprise when I checked my e-mail this morning and found a reporter requesting an interview from some local New Jersey newspaper regarding the fundrace.org site.
I guess he'll also mention "The W" - although I was pretty glad not to have to say "Wienerboard"

Also, thanks to this site, while I knew which road he lived down, I now have Smith's home address. Ah the Internet... what a lovely thing.

It's no surprise to me that Dem donations outnumber Republican donations in excess of 10 to 1. After all, Jesse Helms did call Chapel hill a 'zoo'.

Pierce Brosnan's for Kerry
The Hilton's are giving money to the both of them.
Can anyone recommend other useful zip codes? That was fun.

I was amazed, though, by the number of Bush donations for the rural MD in which I grew up. I guess all those people that bought those new homes that sit on what was farmland when I grew up have plenty of cashola.

Los Angeles - 90027, 90028, 90038, 90068, 90078
Frank Darabont gave about $9,000 to the DNC.
Charlize Theron gave to Kerry.
Kelsey and Camille Grammer gave to Bush.
Bradley Whitford and Jane Kaczmarek gave a whole bunch of money to Democrats. Well, he DOES work for a Democratic President on TV...
Don Henley told the Democratic party to "take it easy".
And, my personal favorite, Haim Saban (that's right, the guy who brought Power Rangers to America) gave 25 grand to the DNC!
Edit: holy crap there's a lot of famous people listed. I cleaned up the above cause it was a big long list. Check it our yourselves.

Bob Odenkirk gave $250 to John Edwards.
Martin Sheen, with a severe lack of foresight, give $2000 to "Mr. Xcitement" Dick Gephardt.
Stephen King gave $2000 to Howard Dean and $23,000 to the DNC. (AND he doesn't really live on Turtleback Lane! The lying bastard!)
Matt Groening has given $2000 to John Kerry, and quite possibly another $500 to the DNC.
Conan O'Brien has donated no money to anybody. Neither has anyone else named Conan.

Saw a story on this on ESPN.com a while ago... said that many owners are donating to Bush, but not a lot to Kerry. Can't seem to find it now, but if I do, I'll punch it in.
