For everyone who doesn't think Agents of SHIELD is SHIELD-y enough, this looks like the SHIELD movie adventure we've been waiting for since Coulson first showed up at Stark Industries way back in 2008.

Man, that trailer looked all kinds of delicious. Also, I know that Agents of SHIELD isn't supposed to interact with the films in any way, but I wonder what direction that show starts to go if the cinematic SHIELD starts to go in a darker direction, as implied in this trailer?

I could see SHIELD going in a darker direction for the bulk of the movie only to come out all smiles and rainbows by the end. Really though, outside of a cameo by Coulson and a throwaway line, I have a feeling the movie and show won't have much intersection.
Meet the Parents was released in October 2000 and grossed $166 million domestically. Universal released Meet the Fockers later in the year, capturing the Christmas audience and the film (which is STILL in many cinemas) has grossed $275 million...
