I've been downloading the games and have watched most of the first 2 weeks so far. It's been a fairly entertaining season so far.
It's hard to adjust to the rules, as I had not followed CFL since the CFL Colts left Baltimore over a decade ago, but besides the weird clock rules that I can't entirely figure out still, it hasn't been a bad adjustment.
I highly suggest CFL for die-hard football fans waiting for the NFL and NCAA seasons to start.

As I recall, after we won the Grey Cup, all the American teams were forced to fold or relocate to Canadian cities because the CFL was ending their "experiment."
The Baltimore CFL Colts/Stallions are the current Montreal team, I think.

The Stallions were the last American team standing (all the others folded); they won the Grey Cup, but had to move to Montreal because the Browns moved and became the Ravens. By all accounts the Stallions were actually quite beloved and supported, which is cool.
I cannot believe that my Riders are 3-0 after trading away our MVP quarterback for the puu-puu platter.
Try not to be confused by the rules of the clock; as far as I can tell, there is no rhyme or reason to anything clock-related.

| #4 Posted on 13.7.08 1733.53 | Instant Rating: 0.73 | Yeah the CFL Colts/CFL Football Club/Stallions were very well supported. I went to pretty much every home game those 2 years and I know a lot of people that did too.
And yes, they only left because the Ravens came to town. This killed the experiment, but I think the Stallions would have been the lone CFL team in America if not for Modell.
It's a shame the CFL never really took off in America, besides Baltimore, because it's a great sport and fairly interesting. But I heard the NFL and CFL have an agreement so the CFL won't go to America any more.. I wonder if this means the NFL will never put a team in Toronto. And would it affect the Argos a lot?
Glad to hear the clock IS just random. It stops after an in bounds play sometimes, keeps running after an out of bounds play, keeps running after touchdowns and penalties, etc. I just stopped paying attention to it.

This post is useless without links.
I love any football, but it's not easily available here in St Louis for viewing. Anybody know a good site to view games or hilights?

Slightly NSFW. Also, you should read Deadspin.

| #9 Posted on 14.7.08 0746.32 | Instant Rating: 8.40 | I grew up with the CFL, but have only started watching it again this season after 10 or so years. I suppose it could have something to do with being a life-long Ti-Cats fan and them suddenly having a team that can win some games.
Having played both American and Canadian football, I have a lot of love for both games. I think Canadian is more fun when you don't have the same level of skill and knowledge. And it's awfully fun to watch the CFL with someone who only knows American football, though.

- Good to see Calgary get a win finally. Montreal really looked flat in the second half.
- Oh my lord, what is wrong with Winnipeg? And they have to go to BC next week after losing to them 41-24 at home.. ouch.

That all-time chokejob against us yesterday probably isn't a good sign for that. :)
