Just got back from WalMart, where I found a display for WWE wrestling DVDs and tapes. Most DVDs were from 2002-04. Most were $9.88, and the ones that were $19.88 were Wrestlemania XIX, Bad Blood 2004, and the Great American Bash 2004.
I bought three, each for $9.88:
Survivor Series 2002 (Elim Chamber, Smackdown 6 tag title match, Steiner's debut, etc) Survivor Series 2003 (Goldberg vs HHH, Taker vs Vince, Shane vs Kane ambulance match, etc) and Before They Were Superstars 2
Just thought some Canadian wieners might be interested.
You wanted the best, you got... Out of Context Quote of the Week.
"It actually got to a point where it became difficult for me to NOT think about Wang, for my thoughts were filled with visions of Wang." (CRZ)
However (at least for American Wally-Worlds) avoid the $5.50 DVD bins like hot buttered death if you're looking for wrestling DVD's. The only ones I saw were "Before They Were Stars" ones that aren't the Wrestling Gold series. Basically, a few unremarkable matches, JIP, for $2.75 a pop. Uhm, I'll pass, assuming 411's reviews are true.
But DO dip into there for Wall Street and Mucha Lucha. Of course.
DEAN's Nuggets of Wisdom:
"I don't want him to die. I just want him to NEED my PEE." (as seen here)
It's funny you mentioned this; I JUST went there this weekend for the first time in ages and found the Global Warning Tour for $9.98 as well. Considering all I wanted for was the 'vintage' 1986 matches, not too shabby. I also saw a few other 2002-2003 PPV's for the same price. I'll definitely be headed back there.
On a semi-related note, anyone in the TO area know where to pick up the Wrestling Gold/OVW/SMW DVD's? I used to find them at the Sam the Record Man on Yonge Street, but they're all cleared out now....
Well, he has a brilliant gimmick and has more charisma than the majority of guys in TNA and WWE. He's a straight edge punk from Chicago. It's hip, relevant and edgy. It's the type of gimmick that can appeal to a whole new breed of wrestling fan.
