Crosby wins it at 7:40 of OT. (Great give and go with Iginla.)

Miller played fantastic, Even losing my MVP of the tournament.

Canada scored first two goals to lead 2-0 (Toews and Perry)
US made it 2-1 on a nifty deflection by Kesler. With 25 seconds left in regulation, Zach Parise tied the game.

Yeah, I totally forgot to put up this graphic!

Just as well - I probably tempted fate enough using today's banner.

Congratulations to the San Jose Sharks for having four representatives on the gold medal team!

UNITED STATES OF ALMOSTGOODENOUGH!

AWOOOOOOO!

If Ryan Kesler hated us before, he must full-well loathe us now. Good game. I think the Americans were actually in better condition as Canada seemed to wear down noticeably in the second half of the 2nd and 3rd. And really, giving up that late third period goal was an affront to God, two Americans standing in front of the net untouched. Just horrible play. I thought we were going to lose after that. Luckily, Crosby came through in the clinch. Next stop for Sidney? Puberty.

But really, as irrelevant and forgettable as this'll probably be to most Yanks, beating the hated Americans, in the gold medal game of the Olympics, in overtime, on Canadian soil, in the most beloved sport our country has...Man. What a euphoric feeling. I'm happy to give the Leafs another forty years after that. I'll never forget it, and it will never happen again.

He could move out of Lemieux's house. And, continually sticking it to Alex Ovechkin for the next 15 years sounds like a plan.

Kirk, crackers are a family food. Happy families. Maybe single people eat crackers, we don't know. Frankly, we don't want to know. It's a market we can do without.

I support Big Bad's theory. If he wins another Stanley Cup in Pittsburgh, he will be set-up as a legendary figure. Hell, Ben is as close to Godhood as an active player can be right now.

What you meant to say is:
Canada still hasn't defeated the USA in regulation play.

Great game, with Canada just shutting down any offense in OT. It seemed no matter where the puck was going, there was a Canadian to stop it. The USA should have had all the momentum in the world, and simply couldn't do a thing.

Congrats to Canada.
Second place isn't so bad.
It beats where Russia ended up.

It's a shame one team had to lose that game. As much as I was jumping up and down and hugging Mrs. Goon after Sidney scored, I was sad to see the downhearted faces of the USA team as they received their silver medals (particularly Ryan Miller).

It was an excellent hockey game and the efforts of all the players should be commended.

As everyone else has said it was a fantastic game, with both teams going all out and nobody with anything to apologize for on either side when it was all over. I got nervous when Canada tightened up in the last few minutes of the third and was not surprised when the Americans tied it up, but I had a good feeling about the way we came out flying in overtime.

We already hear quite a bit about Sidney Crosby in these parts. I half wonder whether they might do a gold medal parade this summer through Cole Harbour (cue Shapiro's "why not, they'll be doing another Cup parade anyway..."). Great, gritty play by him to skate into 4 opposition players, fight for the puck, and then get a shot off when Miller tried to be quicker than he was.

If you love hockey you loved that game; you're not going to see too many better games than that.

No, it was definitely tongue in cheek on my part. Canada was fantastic in that game. It was one of those games where it's a shame somebody had to lose.

I actually do not have very high Cup expectations this year even though I really like our team. Logistically, I just think it borders on physically impossible to make three Finals in a row, especially in an Olympic year.

Seriously, Pierre McGuire probably needed a cigarette and a change of pants after the game-winner.

The two players to watch after the Olympic break, in my mind are Ryan Miller and Martin Brouder. I'm interested in how Miller will react to playing so well btu then letting in that goal.

As for Brouder....he laid an egg in that game and rid the pine the rest of the way. In my mind, he's not going to want to let that slide.

You know, I really don't know what to put here. Close your eyes and thank of something funny!

Good night, sweet Red Wings. I thought you could at least get to six games. Shea Weber turnbuckle hit aside, I wouldn't mind seeing Nashville advance. But then, I don't work for NBC.
