We have gotten a lot of email from angry Canadian fans about Bell Express Vu not airing the NWA: TNA PPV last night. The reason was that apparently taped PPVs in Canada have to have a certain amount of Canadians in them. NWA: TNA will be airing live from now on so the show will air each week on Bell Express Vu.
Okay, I know the Canadian government has a certain impetus to promote and develop a "national culture", and it effects their broadcast laws, but can someone from the great white north explain why they distinguish between taped and live shows in this?
I don't really understand what Debaser said but I agree with him.
This law was created by Prime Minister Lance Storm, and it shall be followed without discussion!
There is no explanation, other than the CRTC is so politcal and so unbelievably screwed up, they'll probably take all Pokémon shows off the air unless one of them is deemed Canadian and says "Pee Ka Chew, eh?" at least twice a week.
I'm halfway convinced that the Pokémon craze is Japan's revenge for Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We nuked them back in '45, so 55 years later they use Pokémon and Digimon and Dragonball Z and stuff to brainwash the next generation of Americans.
“Pee Ka Chew, eh?” What's that all aboot? LOL...
“You want a war, you got one. Only... only, let's do it right. In the ring, where it matters. Not on no microphones. Not in no newspapers or dirt sheets. In the ring... where it matters.”
Here's the thing: would you rather have the fans chant something you choose, or have the fans choose and run away with it? Paul Orndorff never quite got over the "Paula" chants, which I think was started by the fans.
