If I recall correctly, the payoff to those angles were that Big Bubba (now known by his real name Ray Traylor) eventually teamed with the Steiner Brothers a little, and Michael Walstreet wore a shirt with a "no WCW" logo on it.

I think that's the point. They're trying to create suspense, but any idiot who's watched for the past month can figure out the obvious. My reaction is to shrug and say, "Okay... how is that a big deal?
