Ok, so the bad news is in. Brock's got busted ribs and he may be forced to drop the title to Big Slug (the one who broke his ribs in the first place, yet is being "punished" by being given the title). But fear not, friends! Here's It's False to give you an awesome scenario that could make this all work out for the best.
Ok, so let's assume the worst happens. Big Show beats Brock for the belt and Brock is forced out with cracked ribs. So who steps up and takes on Big Show?
I said in another thread that Los Guerreros should get the tag belts while Edge feuds with Benoit. Angle's got nothing to do, so let's have him go after the title. Headline Armageddon with Angle/Show and have Angle totally toss him around like the fatass that he is and make Angle the champion.
Have Brock make his triumphant return at the Royal Rumble and have him completely dominate everybody. Have Brock win the Rumble and...
Angle/Brock is now set up for the title at Wrestlemania!
"See Nash, you can wear any Halloween costume you want to, but you know and I know that you're only half the man that I am - and I have half the brain that you do."
I think some of the mystique of Brock-Angle is lost if Brock loses.
If you wanna switch the title to Angle. I say that Brock loses by DQ after Heyman interferes creating further tension. Stephanie signs some kind of gimmick rematch at Armaggedon where they go to a non-finish and the title gets held up. Like Brock hits the F5 but it hurts so much that both men are down with an arm over the other so its a double pin.
Make the Rumble for the title and have Angle go all Flair 92 on us with it coming down to Brock, Show and Angle at the end. Show takes out Brock but Angle eliminates Show to win the title. Do Brock-Show at the Feb PPV and have Brock squash him there.
Presto as you say, the title is off Brock but he's still undefeated.
I'd written 3 relatively long paragraphs on this and as I reached the end, completely changed my mind on how things should be done. Nobody knows for sure whether Lesnar or Angle will be the face at Wrestlemania. I propose that it should be Lesnar because the people obviously *want* to cheer for him yet quite enjoy rooting against Angle.
I stick with my original idea of having Lesnar screwed by Heyman throwing in the towel and joining forces with Big Show. They do some kind of post-match attack (perhaps have Show lock Lesnar in a car and then throw it off the top of the building) and Lesnar is plausibly out to recuperate from the cracked rib.
Show goes on to squash a few people on Smackdown to give him the appearance of a dominate champion. Work in a storyline that has Show get into a feud against Angle so that Wight and someone who's feuding with Benoit team up against Angle & Benoit at Armageddon. Mattitude might be a good choice for this as I'm sure he'd be happy to let the Big Show tag along on his coattails as he single handedly defeats Benoit & Angle (while it's actually Benoit accidentally hitting the swandive headbutt on Angle which cost them the match). It'd also give us the pleasure of seeing Matt Hardy cut a promo the next Smackdown about how Big Show owes him a title shot because Mattitude softened up Lesnar for him and saved him against Angle or some such that I'm too tired to explain right now but you can all see Mattitude cutting said promo, damnit.
We then see Angle defeat The Big Show at the Royal Rumble to win the WWE championship while the rumble itself is won by a returning Lesnar. This sets up a face Lesnar vs. heel Angle at Wrestlemania XIX. During his 2 month title reign, Angle needs to defend the title as much as possible (maybe going against Chris Benoit at the February PPV) so that he's fully credible (in the eyes of the casual fan) as champion when he loses to Lesnar at Wrestlemania. This leaves open the Lesnar vs. Show rematch for the PPV after Wrestlemania.
I would like to see Big Show win and drop the title at the next PPV to Mattitude or Edge. But that's in my perfect world, you know. McMahon logic says Big Show wins...and feuds with the returning Undertaker or some other hoss.

I think that a Heyman lead Big Show could turn out to be quite entertaining. Workrate might suffer for awhile, but it will be to see how over Heyman can make the Big Show. I say you feed him Edge at the next PPV because he can sell the offense and a loss won't kill him since it's his first real shot at a big title.
I've been recapping Velocity for a few weeks now, attempting to convince more people to watch the show. My track record on watching Heat has been a little more spotty, just because I'm usually not in the mood to watch TV when it's on.
