I noticed that Bono(U2) is on the cover of TIME magazine. I have not read the article yet but I thought it would bring a interesting discussion being that Bono has met most world leaders.

I'm sure he thinks he can.

But who will save the world from Bono?

I love U2, I really do but unless Bono is planning on using his patented powers of pretentiousness to save the world then put me in the "No" pile. I've said this elsewhere but it bears repeating: he's well meaning but sometimes off the mark with his iniatives. His heart is in the right place though. His work for Drop the Debt and Amnesty International deserve praise but certain sensitive issues, namely the Troubles in Northern Ireland, are way too fragile for well meaning pop stars to come in and muck them up nowadays. He can't save the world, but he can bring important issues to the forefront of the public mind and maybe get others to start the wheels in motion.

It's definitely on Sunday there and everywhere else. At least the amazing amount of advertising here in the UK mainland says that. It usually means free promotional Guiness so I hope I've got the day right because I don't want to miss that! .
