As a Californian, it's my civic duty to select, more or less at random, a website a day and feature it in this fine forum. Sure.

Today's pick:
SCOTT DAVIS (I)

Handsome feller!

Website: www.davisforgovernor.org

From his bio:
Occupation: Business Owner, Founder and CEO of Valero Solutions, a high-tech consulting company.

Education: MBA from the University of Georgia, 1988. BS in Business from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill, 1987.

City of Residence: Palo Alto, CA.

Marital Status: Single, Homeowner with 2 dogs named Sydney and Rio

That's right, ladies, he's SINGLE! And he has TWO DOGS!

Why I am running: "California is in a state of disarray and financial disaster. We need a businessperson to bring new ideas to the table for running this state and bring true fiscal and social leadership We do not need someone who bows to special interests. I want to make a difference for all Californians."

Slogan: "The Real Davis for Governor More Results with Less Government!"

Vote Scott Davis - the "single, 2 dogs" candidate

UNITED WE STAND

So... when's your campaign website going to be up? :)

It is the soldier not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press

It is the soldier not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech

It is the soldier not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate

It is the soldier not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial

It is the soldier, who saluted the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag

Just clicked on the link...

...and, just like that, Scott pulled out of the campaign. Which is probably why that picture you posted is now just a big red "X".

Out of curiosity, CRZ, do you have any other pics of the guy?

Sorry. Didn't plan on him weaseling out so soon after the harsh glare of the CRZ Spotlight fell 'pon him. Maybe you could email him and ask him to email you the gif? ;-)

Looks like my spotlight actually wasn't the harshest one: Click Here (San Jose Mercury News)

You'd *think* something like that might have come across his mind BEFORE he decided to run. Then again...

Found another (smaller) copy of the original photo. It's been so long you'll wonder just what all the fuss was about!

He looks like Darrell Hammond from SNL.

"When this bogus term alternative rock was being thrown at every '70s retro rehash folk group, we were challenging people to new sonic ideas. If some little snotty anarchist with an Apple Mac and an attitude thinks he invented dance music and the big rock group is coming into his territory, [that's] ridiculous." - Bono, 1997
