ED BEYER (R)

Website: www.electedbeyer.com - Nat Gertler (gertler.com) notes, "[His] website name ... may confuse some people. He's not already Elected Beyer, he is merely telling you to Elect Ed Beyer"

Not to be confused with: Ed Beyer, keyboards man on the Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown album Gate's on the Heat (vervemusicgroup.com)

Also not to be confused with: Ed Beyer, sound editor for Serpico among other films (us.imdb.com) - since he died in 1997, it's actually a little less confusing to mix them up

Idealism: "This is a campaign to bring business and jobs back to California, to bridge the deficit and one day return to budget solvency."

Just folks who know?: "Since announcing a desire to run for Governor, folks who know me ask, 'why?'

Hard to argue with him: Because I love California.

Ballot designation: Chief Operations Officer

Actual occupation: Private Investigator

Does his wife know this?: "There have been no other happier moments than watching an employee learn new skills, buy a car or finance a new home."

All politicians lie: "A vote for Ed Beyer is a vote for increased fiscal revenue through increased employment."

No, REALLY: "We're running a very serious campaign. You'll see our bumper stickers, Web site and volunteer force gathering signatures."

Number of news items referenced on website since certification: Zero

Uhhh...yeah, I love Grimby: "Do you need more lawn signs or bumper stickers?"

Vote for Ed Beyer - the "more bumper stickers" candidate

NEXT: ANOTHER ONE

What the hell is fiscal revenue? Is there a non-fiscal revenue part of the equation too? Maybe the non-fiscal revenue is generated through unemployment? Yeah, that's it.

Maybe non-fiscal revenue is, like, livestock. I guess he wants to shift California away from a hog-and-steer based economy, which is probably a good thing since they can get kinda stinky.

Did you read the actual interview or just the blurb at the top? The 'Worst in American History' stuff comes in at the end of the interview, while the rest of the interview actually talked about, you know, economics. That thing he teaches.
