I know that some of us aren't too pleased with Goldust's current gimmick. But I have to say that the promo betwixt Goldie and HHH was hilarious. Then again, like I said before, I'm not familiar with Tourettes. Dustin's delivery has been funny for the most part, and it certainly helped last night. Just like HHH and Flair, keeping a straight face through the promo proved to be an impossibility. But it did its job by taking the racial overtones down, and making it more into a personal issue involving Booker T's best friend. What's your opinions on that promo? Did it do it's job or not?

It's not offensive...it's just...stupid and annoying. I thought Goldust was doing just fine dressing up and doing skits backstage.

It isn't just the promo. The booking of the fued was about 10,000 times better last night than it has been up to this point. It made Booker look credible finally. But only to have him be cut down by a crutch. The Goldie/HHH promo was ok, I still don't like them making fun of a serious condition people have, but when has WWE ever had any taste? All in all, The Book is looked like a #1 contender last night and that is what counts. They need a face to face next week with refs pulling them apart and they will be ready.

So far, I'm fine with Goldust. I think the key with this new gimmick is the reactions of the other wrestlers. Both Stone Cold last week and HHH this week have played up his speech problems with comedy. Pair him up with someone with some good mic skills as a foil and things could work.

Yes, it's could be considered by some as tacky or being done in poor taste. But honestly, when has been pro wrestling ever been associated with good taste?

Goldy has been pretty entertaining in any story they give him. Last night when he first started to stutter...HHH and TripleNaitch started to laugh....and if you look closely, Goldy was trying really hard not to laugh too. It was hilarious...he started to break a smile, but fought it off.

Good points. For me, it wasn't so much Goldust's stammering that made me enjoy it, it was the reaction to it from HHH, Flair, and even Jerry Lawler. Though, Goldy's choice of words helped too. Still, it's pretty awkward like I said, for obvious reasons, but HHH came out of it a supreme jerk and got smacked for it, so mission accomplished, right?

Since he's returned, Goldust has made me a believer. They keep handing him shit, and he keeps delivering. I can't believe that during the 2002 RR, I didn't want him to come back.

This is a poo-ey angle, but Dustin has made it work, without being too offensive.

I thought the whole thing had some amazing face/heel psychology going. Although I'm not a fan of the gimmick, if they had to have anyone doing it, Dustin's the man. He has done everything asked of him and done it well.

Their match even came off great...HHH with the cocky (or should that be cock..cock...cocky?) "Did you just hit me?" only to get popped again was great.

Even Randy's interference was booked well. I went as follows:

"Who's the jerk with the crutch?"
"Oh it's a plant...he just hit Booker."
"Holy Shit! Security's after him...someone just really nailed Booker!"
"Oh...it's Orton."

They got me...call me a mark if you will, but it got me.

All in all, this played out well, and was a step up for everyone involved. I'm actually enjoying HHH for the first time in a long time.

Personally, as far as potential for offensiveness goes, I think it's important that only the heels laugh at Goldust's condition (Ha! Ha! You stutter!), and any humor derived from this by the babyfaces is of the unintentional variety (Man, that's disconcerting, here have a sammich). Also, they have never referred to it by name, just as a "condition". Overall, a lot less tasteless than an obscenity-spewing woman hiring a male prostitute and going on a "hilarious" date in the _Deuce Bigalow_ movie.

Dustin sure is the man. He has an amazing command of character, accent, mannerism, etc. He's the one guy in the fed that I don't think needs to basically stick to playing himself. I think he could be a good character actor in Hollywood if he wanted to be.

I kinda saw it as a genius way to say "COCK!" many times on TV and get away with it (while still making the obvious penis joke).

I wonder who's idea the "Cock-cock-cock-Cockles" line was?

Anyways, I think this "condition" angle is pretty entertaining. And I aslo think it is amazing that Dustin was able to make this funny. To be honest, I don't know of any other person on the roster that could have made it funny.

Well, maybe Chris Jericho from 1999 (Consipracy Victim, Dean's retirement, etc). Back then Jericho made everything histerical.

I'm embarassed to admit it, but I personally find it kinda' funny. Unfortunatley, I don't think it means anything except a downward spiral in his career. I just can't hear JR ever saying:

"This kid has had a tough road. He's still battling tourette's syndrome. But tonight, he's on top of the world. He is the WWE World Heavyweight by-god CHAMPION!!!"

Dustin was able to take what they gave him and made it work. However, the only way I can see this working in the long run is if it leads to some sort of angle where Dustin comes out and attacks Bischoff for forcing him to act like a jackass...

I enjoy the Goldust comedy but I have really been impressed with his ring work since his return. My problem with this gimmick is that once he starts kicking ass he has to start selling to his own left arm.

Terrible angle. But Goldust made it funny, if only for a minute.

Personally, I think Triple H and Goldust could have had a promo just as amusing without the stuttering.

If I remember correctly, when Goldie was shocked, his left arm was stuck in the fuse box, so I think the residual shock is the reason why. I have to agree with Jakegnosis that less stuttering could've done the same purpose.

Yeah, I understand the "logic" behind it but it is still stupid to have to to start selling your arm at random. How can you get excited about someone knowing he will just breakdown at anytime, clutch his arm and get pinned?
