Some of you may have heard of the fire going on in the NE corner of Minnesota, which is a huge undeveloped forest area called Boundary Waters Canoe Area. I just found this site that has two pages worth of the fire from this past Sunday. It is just amazing seeing Mother Nature's fury unleashed. Take a look:

Wow. That's pretty spectacular. I hope nobody was injured. I remember going on a family canoe/camping trip there when I was a youngin', and if recollection serves, there's not much in the way of tracking who is in the area, and where they're at. Makes me think that we were ill-prepared if something like this had taken place while we were there. I don't even think that having a mobile phone would help too much.

I hope I'm not the only one getting a 1984 vibe from this (and, among other things, the terror alert system). There's no need, really, for TIA. It's just way too extensive.
