Some of you may have heard of the fire going on in the NE corner of Minnesota, which is a huge undeveloped forest area called Boundary Waters Canoe Area. I just found this site that has two pages worth of the fire from this past Sunday. It is just amazing seeing Mother Nature's fury unleashed. Take a look: http://www.boreal.org/fireinfo/Cavity_Lake_Fire/photo_gallery.html

Wow. That's pretty spectacular. I hope nobody was injured. I remember going on a family canoe/camping trip there when I was a youngin', and if recollection serves, there's not much in the way of tracking who is in the area, and where they're at. Makes me think that we were ill-prepared if something like this had taken place while we were there. I don't even think that having a mobile phone would help too much.

You're not alone. I almost got into a fistfight with a friend of mine over a plate of Lamb Vindaloo while demanding that we nuke the entire middle east since "well if we just kill every damn Muslim on the planet, there won't be any terrorists.
