I am a big fan of the Marvelous 3 -- Butch Walker's old band. I have not yet, however, heard any songs from Walker's solo album. What's it like? Is it similar to the Marvelous 3, or does Walker go in a different direction?
I've only heard the single and it's very...well, you can tell Butch Walker wrote it because of some of the lyrical quirks, but it seems to be much more "rock 'n' roll" than M3. It's not acoustic or anything. Hell, it's not really that far off from M3 anyhoo. Though someone with the album could probably give you a better idea...
I made a post over the summer about how great this CD is! Its awesome! My favorite CD of the year..... I'm from Atlanta, where Butch is from, so he's somewhat bigger down here than the rest of America. I hadn't heard much Marvelous 3, but Butch's CD has plenty of funny songs, love songs, etc. Great, great CD. I'll do a full review of it later.
Being a Beatles nerd, I'm following the subdiscussion about things the Beatles (and/or McCartney) have let be sampled and things that they used in their own songs a bit more than the legal/illegal aspect of The Grey Album, though I suppose they connect.
