With many Americans unhappy at French resistance to a war in Iraq, the president said there has developed "a backlash against the French, not stirred up by anybody except by the people."

If Mexico - or other countries - oppose the United States, he said that "there will be a certain sense of discipline." But he quickly added, "I expect Mexico to be with us."

Wow. Way to stir up those ethnic hard feelings, George. I love how there's no depth to which he won't seek when things aren't going his way. Reminds me of all the rumors his guys spread about John McCain in South Carolina.

At the risk of taking this thread further off topic, if you disagree with what Harper has done on Kyoto by withdrawing from it, what is it that you would have had him do? Remain in the treaty and pay reparations for when the targets were missed?
