Does anyone watch this? Is anyone still watching this? Did you get the sense the big reveal at the end of the episode was meant to be taken totally seriously/truthfully?

The reveal was so absurd that I could not take it seriously, yet - even though it was spoken by a character who's whole bit is playing mind games - none of the characters seemed to question it. They've got two episodes left this season, maybe they'll address and clean it up, but it seemed like a show desperate to raise the stakes and having no good ideas left to do so.

I think the writers thought it'd have a HUGE impact, yet they somehow forgot that all we as an audience know about Michael's dad is he was an abusive asshole. Michael has plenty of reasons to hate Ansem, adding "he killed my dad" to it, especially since he's established as hating his dad.........whatever they were going for, the target was in Montreal and the arrow hit Mazatlan.

I'm Charlie Owens, good night, and good luck.

There is probably a TV Tropes page about this.

In 'TV Land', it is just accepted that no matter how big a douchebag a parent is, they are still loved by the characters on a TV show. Bones recently touched on this subject by having Booth's abusive father die. Even though it's been shown through the entire series that he hates his father, he ended up caring for him in the end simply because he was his father.

Some people believe this is the same in the real world, but I know many people, myself included, who had a parent die (my dad) and it didn't phase me in the least.

Forget it Josh... it's Cerebustown.

Yea they aired like a weeks worth a few months ago. It was in the papers and TV Guide I think, I guess you missed it. Seemed like a big deal but it really just comes across as just another talk show.
