From TNA's Facebook page:

Effective immediately, TNA Wrestling has elected to terminate the services of Todd Clem p/k/a Bubba the Love Sponge.
Ha ha ha ha yaay.

I read somewhere recently that Bubba called in to some radio show when Awesome Kong was on and called her a "black bitch." (I'll try and find a link later.) I realize Kong's no longer with TNA, but I wonder if that was one of the final straws.

Perhaps he wants nothing to do any longer with the business, but wouldn't Diamond Dallas Page work much better in the 'role' Bubba was in?

Can't say I'm shedding a tear, quite frankly. It should have happened five months earlier though.

I like how they say they terminated his services.

It's so much more direct than WWE's Future Endeavors notices

Ha ha, that rules!

I popped over to TNA's roster page just to, you know, revel in its Bubbalessness, and I noticed that Daniels is still there (or back again?). Weird, since it's up-to-date enough that Bubba's gone. Anyone hear anything about his status?

Best thing TNA has done since the Hogan/Bischoff take over. Bubba is a complete waste of air. I guess the "Fire Bubba" chants from the Impact Zone did it's magic.

C'mon. Don't be a sucker for this. Foley doesn't hit stiff for no reason, Hogan is in charge and Bubba is his best friend. Bubba is "shooting" because Dixie's money says so

I should cut and paste this next line, but one [ed.note] is enough for the day. The thought counts

Hmm. I think it's okay to call someone a bitch if that's what you think (as long as harassment or violence aren't involved), but why you gotta bring race into it, you know?

But, why would you waste any effort working people on Bubba the Love Sponge?

I have doubts.

How could Kong not recognize Bubba's voice? Why would she subject herself to this kinda shit? Why didn't she just hang up?

I smell a work.

You could be true but it's not like Kong isn't shy about confrontation, based on the report when the whole Bubba/Kong altercation first broke.

It sounded like Bubba joined in a couple minutes in to the interview and began making some pretty insane observations. Perhaps she felt the need to challenge him before, ultimately, hanging up when the two crossed the line into complete idiocy?

Not that I wouldn't put it past Vince and Hogan to come up with a work between Bubba and someone who had been let go/off television for about a month. ;)

Don Imus gets fired and weeks of national headlines for "nappy headed hoes" and THIS GUY gets to spout off this crap??

WTF??

My respect for Hogan has dropped just for associating with this assclown.

Actually, I would prefer seeing Daniel Bryan make Michael Cole tap at WM to not having him on the card at all or him getting put in a pre-show match.
