Sometimes I will open a thread here, and before it opens, my browser will close. IT happens at a few other sites I visit as well. It is only like 11 out of 100 threads, but it is annoying as hell. I am always able to get right back online, but not able to open some threads.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

I run Ad aware and System Mechanic daily to get rid of spy ware and stuff, so that isnt an issue, and I defrag once a week, so ther should not be any real reason I can think of that would make this happen.

My (ancient Mac) Netscape 7.02 will sometimes crash when an .ART file sneaks up on it - for months, XPacArmy had been causing random crashes and I was so happy when he changed his avatar. The fact that it didn't ALWAYS crash was a little disconcerting - I can try to figure out why something happens when it happens ALL of the time, but only SOME of the time isn't even worth trying!
