According to Observer audio, which I can't link to, and I think first broken by PWinsider, which I'm scared to link to, Brock has verbally agreed to a 2-year deal with WWE for close to the same terms as the first contract. So he'll be doing 3-4 big PPV matches a year for the next two years, kind of like a UFC schedule.

Bryan Alvarez says that two of the talked about matches for 2013 are Lesnar vs. Punk and Lesnar vs. Orton (which was at one point the planned SummerSlam main event last year before things started to go south with Orton). If you're looking into the future, both Punk and Orton are both expected to be heels in 2013, so read into that what you will. Meltzer says WWE is leery of doing another Undertaker/Lesnar match because Taker's body is not really up for the miniature car accident that is a match with Brock Lesnar anymore.

With Brock in the fold going forward, there is maybe just maybe less of a chance that he loses to Triple H? I mean, not really, but the Executive Vice President of WWE should be all about business and maximizing his company's assets, right? I think it's more likely you see HHH win when Heyman screws up and Brock F5ing Paul to turn babyface.

I also wonder if they'll continue to suspend/fire/quit Brock every time his tri-annual program is over or if he'll just arrive for fun times and depart in the wind, like the Rock and Frosty the Snowman.

That would be awesome for Punk to start calling him "Rocky the Snowman" -- he comes for a short while, brings his magic, makes all the kids smile ... and then leaves, promising "I'll be back again some day."

Lesnar/Punk can happen immediately.

Punk sees the backstage video, learns of Heyman's deal with Maddox and Shield, and gets indignant. Why does Paul think he can't get the job done? He's best in the world. He threatens Paul, Brock protects Paul, and we got a PPV match. And now we got Punk and Paul talking against each other. That can fill three-hour RAWs for weeks.

A three-hour Punk & Paul E. talkin' show could *almost* fill the hole in my TV Heart being left this year by the end of Fringe/30 Rock/YJ/GL...

Not that they can't ignore this, but Heyman said he AND Punk had been paying the Shield in their interview. Punk knew.

Well, they're going to want a big match for Extreme Rules like last year to counteract the Mania lull. Brock fresh off turning babyface, CM Punk fresh off ... a significant and historic Mania win (ok maybe not). Though at a certain point Punk is going to have to get off the rollercoaster and let his knee heal (ok maybe not), so perhaps after the Mania match they should just have Undertaker put him in a casket and blow it up with lightning as his temporary blowoff.

Lesnar/Punk as a swap in for Lesnar/HHH II would be kinda great, but I don't see that happening. I, too, am wondering what this deal means for the expected outcome of the HHH rematch. I kind of hate the idea of turning Lesnar into anything resembling a traditional face, but I'd be fine with Lesnar taking Heyman out if it's done with the idea being "Brock Lesnar: Total Free Agent". (That said, I don't want to endorse any idea that involves taking Heyman off TV.)

Of everybody on the roster I want them to use valuable Brock Dates on, the guys who stand out most are Sheamus, Cesaro and Bryan. Sheamus/Lesnar should be a no brainer, as it plays into Sheamus' strengths and Sheamus is the guy who most looks like he could stand in there with Brock. Plus, either Brock would just break Sheamus' face anytime Sheamus started to say something goofy OR they'd both start trading goofy promos, which would be entertaining in its own right.

Lesnar vs. a fully-formed, full-moveset Cesaro could be a major, star-making match if they continue to stay behind Cesaro in his current "pound-for-pound strongest" gimmick. I think Cesaro is the guy who could benefit the most from simply losing to Brock.

Bryan/Lesnar is the dream match for me. Will they ever do it or even think about doing it? Probably not. But the moment Bryan ended up as the guy who dragged Lesnar out of the ring the night he and Cena went at it, I've wanted to see it. And Daniel Bryan - tiny vegan warrior - vs. Brock Lesnar - giant, insane Brock Lesnar - is the best possible story for them to tell, even just visually. It would also probably be the best match available and moving Bryan fully into the New Kurt Angle role that he's basically filling (only not hanging by a thread both mentally and physically).

Edited to add:

Obviosuly, they should foreshadow this by having Punk get mad at someone asking him, yet again, why he always looks so tired by saying "I'll sleep when I'm dead!" and then looking at the camera and winking.

I think this is great news. Everything between WWE and Lesnar always seems so tentative that a 2-year deal would allow for more long term storylines develop between his matches, which will hopefully make the ones he wrestles on seem bigger if they put him in against the right opponents.

If there's one thing WWE has improved upon in the last 2 years, it's that they have plotted out storylines further in advance and not strayed too far from their original plans, which is what really turned me away for a while. Now, if only they can make them better-written storylines, they'd probably see better ratings.

Brock has only really competed in 2 matches since coming back with a third on the way, and that third one is a rematch. Brock/Punk, Brock/Orton, and Brock/Bryan are all matches I really want to see. I'd also have loved to seen one more go-around with the Undertaker after they set it up at that UFC event, but I guess that's not realistic.

My boy D-Bry v. Lesnar would be my goto use of Lesnar, and is also the furthest from likely. This company would go with a guaranteed money feud to make up for the high end Brock contract. It's been a while since the WWE had a bonafide "Giant Killer/David v. Goliath" character in the company. If I'm not mistaken Kurt was the last smaller guy the WWE had who you legit believed could stand toe to toe with Big Show, Undertaker, or Lesnar and probably win in a straight up fight. This was also done for a while with Mysterio way back when he lost his mask in WCW and started beating Super Heavyweights. Mysterio was huge during that time that his fan reaction was even stronger than poster boy Cruiserweight Billy Kidman's for years.

There hasn't been one since Kurt and I see many similarities between Bryan and Angle. One being hugely over with fans whether as a more serious World Champ or goofy one word comedy act. The other is not having Bryan show fear towards larger Superstars. He's so over right now and the matches would be so good I honestly think it would be some of the most engaging non-title driven story since Jericho vs. HBK.

Looks like they're going towards Chavo vs Rey - Mask vs Title. Although, that's really something that should get a LONG build up. Like Heyman keeps screwing Mysterio out of title shots.
