The only British shows i've seen with any regularity is Benny Hill and Dad's War. Dad's War is just as good as if not better than Hogan's Heroes, surprised no one has mentioned it.

I've always wanted to see "Til Death Do Us Part" and "Steptoe and Son" out on DVD, would be interesting to see how they hold up to the American versions.

I am LOVING The Office. Best DVD I ever purchased based on somebody else's recommendation.

Fawlty Towers was also several kinds of awesome. Red Dwarf was also sweet.

I watched the whole Office oeuvre in a quick span (not that hard, of course) and it instantly became my second favorite show. Masterfully conceived, executed, acted, written, awesome, perfect. I think there's been a rape up there.

I would argue that the Office finale (in the form of the Christmas 2-parter) is the best ending to any comedic television series ever. What do you guys think?

Oh man, it's not even close, compared to the big three contemporary examples.

- Seinfeld was a complete disaster, unfortunately. Not that it wasn't nice to see everybody.

- Say what you will about Friends, but I liked it a lot until the last two seasons, and they'd done a bunch of good season finales before. Thankfully, they did more or less what they needed to do, but it wasn't a crescendo that was being built to since they fucked around doing stupid stuff for the last two years. It wasn't very funny either.

- Frasier had the most well done finale of the three, IMO, both in terms of entertainment and in terms of wrapping it up. But the show had already been dead so long that it didn't really matter all that much. The "real" finale was, of course, was the Donnie wedding with the Daphne and Niles blowoff. Everything after that was just superfluous.

But The Office, oh my, The Office. Not only was it hilarious, but the story they told was sooooo marvelously perfect. The two/three big closing moments are, perhaps, the most wonderful things to ever happen. And not just on television.

Justin is completely right in the examples he used, but I'll always argue that the best ending to a comedy/sitcom was the end to Newhart. As great as the Christmas episodes of The Office were, they just don't compare for me to seeing Bob wake up next to Suzanne Pleshette in their bed.

Catch The Thrill on "Pick of the Week": taped Tuesdays at Planet Magic in Denmark, WI; on the air Sundays @ 1 am on WB-14!

I'll throw in some support for Are You Being Served?, but...

...let's not forget Danger Mouse!

I just finished watching The Office finale, and I loved it. I agree with everyone, it's perfect.

I'd say Star Trek: The Next Generation is the only show with a finale that's close to The Office, and that ain't saying much.

Sorry with Ronnie Corbett is probably the only show I ever felt was on a par with Fawlty Towers. I still have VHS copies from WTTW Chicago PBS from about 1986 and this show is insanely funny.

Also, The Dave Allen Show was classic in dry presentation and The Two Ronnies (a sketch show also with Ronnie Corbett) was freakin' hilarious.

I also am on board with having just watched The Office finale...not only do I finally understand the "only you" header on the message board this past week, but the ending had me going misty for the first time since I watched "Snoopy Come Home" 25 or so years ago.

(Yes, my inner chick got the best of me.)

I WOULD be totally against the idea of Cena appearing in any Predator film, be it sequel or remake. If a wrestler's going to follow in Arnie's footsteps it should be The Rock. He's at least got the charisma, name value and acting experience.
