From WWE.com:
"Bret "Hit Man" Hart will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The Hit Man will be inducted on April 1, 2006 in Chicago, IL."

Pretty neat stuff. And if he so pleases...he can milk the crowd for a good 20 minutes.

Let the speculation about his involvement in the Vince McMahon/Shawn Michaels feud begin.

It's good to see that the WWE isn't backing away from Batista or Cena. There's still some questions lingering over a few of the draft moves they either made or didn't make (Jericho being a prime example), but the stage is set for a solid run to Summerslam that may send the indicator down. The longer Triple H stays away is also a plus...

There was a nice huge video package on RAW tonight.

RAW was pre-empted by the dog show in the U.S. It's being shown on Thursday instead.

If Bret agreed to appear, I hope Vince doesn't screw this one up.

Has the WWE website been known to make announcements like this just to swerve the fans?

I just caught the ending. Since the other Canadians don't talk about what happens on Smackdown on Thursday on Friday I guess the same applies for Raw this week. Kind of a bummer because I enjoy reading other people's thoughts on Raw on Tuesday.

You'd think they'd put Owen in there too. Would be a nice touch to have Bret himself induct Owen.

They should just induct the whole Hart family. And Neidhart and Bulldog. They all deserve it.

I believe Michaels has stated that if Bret is to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, he would not be in attendance at the event. And after all, Bret said he doesn't want to be involved in any storylines or anything on screen anymore, and I am sure that would hold true especially in a storyline involving HBK.

And I'm sure Bret didn't appreciate all the potshots HBK took at him in his book.

I will say though, that I think it is poor planning that they announce Bret as being the first inducted for 2006. I think it would have been smarter if they announced him as the last inductee, just like they did for Hogan last year.

Shawn said if that's what it took to get Bret to be there, then he wouldn't go. But he didn't say "I won't go if Bret's there", like he was boycotting it or anything. I think Meltzer or somebody took some shots at Shawn for that comment, like "oh, he thinks it all revolves around him", which seemed kinda unfair since it sounded like something the interviewer probably asked him.

Does this, combined with the DVD, indicate he signed a Legends contract? Would he be prohibited from going to TNA now?

Oh, my mistake then. I take back what I originally said and thanks for clearing that up, SEADAWG.

Still, based on his book, I don't think HBK has changed very much in my opinion.

So, who is gonna induct/introduce Bret? My money is on Benoit. Its gonna most likely be some other canadian. Maybe Jericho is he is around by then. They could get Neidhart to stop by and do it as well.

Probably to end all rumors & speculations right away.
IMO this is bigger than Hogan's induction. Great great news.

When I was at a 1PW event in the UK in early Jan Hart did a Q & A session. When quizzed about WM22 Hart said that nobody should expect to see him there- although he did say that he was interested in being recognised in the HOF if he ever got an apology from the company. I doubt he would ever sign any sort of contract with the company though- even the DVD was a bit of an odd occurance.

Don't know if this has any bearing on the situation now but there you have it.

Everyone's expecting Eddie to be inducted this year, and it would probably be awkward to induct two wrestlers who died tragically before their time, since grief for Eddie would overshadow Owen.

Besides that, the intrigue around Bret's induction is sure to make him the center of attention like Hogan was last year, to the point that fans barely noticed the other inductees. Inducting Owen the same year as Bret doesn't necessarily do Owen any favors. I'd ask Bret to come back and do it some other year.

It will certainly be huge in Canada. Hogan getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame got actual news coverage on actual news programs as though it was an actual news story. Bret getting in will be bigger still.

I thought Neidhart had passed as well? Didn't everyone from the 2nd Hart Foundation besides Bret pass away??

First, with Perry Saturn: He worked rough with a jobber, so as punishment, Bradshaw and Simmons on RAW provided sloppy powerbombs to him, then he got stuck with the moppy angle. And, for things that broke into shoots, Bruiser Brody vs. Lex Luger.
